Zebian breathed sharply before blinking his eyes groggily. His vision was quick to adjust in the dim light exposure produced by the sconces. His arms were wrapped up around something. It took him a second to realise he was holding someone until his eyes flitted down on her. A gentle smile came bare on his face as he inhaled deeper and pulled her back closer to his chest, putting a feathery kiss on her shoulder and neck. Once his lips parted from the side of her neck, his eyes zeroed in on the prominent hickeys adorning her skin. His smile widened and he put another kiss before sucking it a little hard. She abruptly squirmed like a fragile doll and flipped to the other side while sighing deeply in her sleep. Her one arm flew to wrap around his back and the other snaked under his neck before she squeezed him like he was some pillow. Zebian chuckled in bafflement and felt her nose poking against his chest. He couldn't help but feel the awe of a simple act just as this.

He bent his head and found a few strands veiling her pretty face from his sight. His fingers softly tugged them behind her right ear before attaching his lips to her forehead and pecking it lightly like a feather was caressing her a silk cloth.

He again sighed deeply against her head and closed his eyes in relief. "It's a beautiful morning, my love," He murmured lovingly and tightened his arm around her waist and the other on the back of her head. Her nose got nuzzled in his bruises, he didn't care that it was pinching like she stabbed him again with that knife. He just wanted her impossibly close.

"This is so peaceful," He confessed gratifyingly while running his hand on her scalp. She was breathing so gently against his chest that it was giving him goosebumps. He was electrified by her warmth. This was maddening.

"Everything feels so good right now," He admitted while he caressed her back with his fingers, his voice was laced with sincerity and comfort. "Just because you are here like this...in my arms, I am overwhelmed by the feeling that I have achieved everything I have a fancy for in my life," He whispered smilingly. The glow that his smile brought out was proving the genuineness in it. This smile was from his heart and it was happening after eight years. The last time he smiled like this was when he kissed her for the first time against that tree.

He groaned agonisingly as all the bitter details from the past marred his mood a bit but he didn't want to remember that right now so he pulled her chin up by his two fingers and laid his eyes on her sleepy face. Instantly, his mood took up notches to heaven. His heart exploded into a mush. Just by one look on her face and he was calmed.

"How have you become so precious to me? When...when did it actually happen?" He asked her. Though, the opponent wasn't in a position to answer him back. He pondered upon it himself and recalled the night when they were in that motel and she was sleeping beside him like this...like a scared kitten.

He chuckled when he remembered what he did back then. He watched her sleeping throughout the night while his heart yielded to her with each passing moment. Not to forget, he did many things that she was not aware of. Such as this...

His hand unclasped from her back to snake up to the curves of the waist. His eyes followed his actions fervently. His fingerpads lightly caressed her. He inhaled deeply and leaned closer to kiss those delicious curves before tracing up. He halted before the underside of her right lump and licked the surface. She grunted in her throat and he eyed her while his hot tongue comforted her skin. He kissed her at last and pulled away. His eyes darted back to her face and he started peppering kisses on it. He smothered her with his affection until she whimpered vaguely. Things he had done that night. He was about to attack her neck when a knock on the door caught his attention. His brows crunched up in a furrow as he looked at the closed door.
