Arlet was running in circles as she replayed the insult in her mind. Her eyes were red-rimmed and she seemed haywire. Her chambermaids watched her achingly as her tears kept on tumbling down.
She shook her head. "No, this is not going to happen anymore," She mumbled to herself and sprinted here and there before pulling to a halt.
"I can't..." She choked on her words and dashed out of her chambers. Her chambermaids followed her with agitation eating their insides. Arlet was headed to the queen's chambers. The guard watched her coming furiously and before they could stop her to enquire about her suspicious behaviour, she pushed them and hurled open the door.
"Hey!" The caption-commander yelled but she had already crossed the territory and stepped inside the Queen's living room where she was present.
Meriall hurriedly turned around and saw fuming Arlet glaring at her.
"Arlet, sweetheart," Meriall coated her with a smile but Arlet was in no mood to regard her with formalities.
"I need to leave," Arlet started out undertone.
"Pardon?" Meriall narrowed her eyes softly.
"I don't want to send that letter anymore, I want to leave this palace," She screeched, causing Meriall's face to scrunch.
"Arlet, dear, you need to relax. Here, let me prepare tea for you," Meriall stepped near the table that had a tea set resting.
"I don't need your fucking tea, I need to leave!" Arlet slammed her hands on the table, startling Meriall.
"What is this language, your grace? Are you aware of your words that are directed to your queen?" Meriall's eyes bulged out in shock but she kept her tone equal. Cursing at the queen meant life imprisonment no matter what the rank was.
"Yes, yes, yes, I AM! And you are not my queen, you are his mother and I hate him!" Arlet broke down. She held her face and ran her hand down.
"Just let me go, I don't want to send any letters anymore," She sobbed.
"You can tell me what is going on, and I will fix it," Meriall tried to step close to her.
"No, nothing will fix this. Your son is a maniac," There was only hatred in her words. No remorse, no fear of where her words could end her.
"I'm listening here," Meriall kept her composure straight despite being on the verge of her patience.
"You don't understand. He...he was about to behead me because I showed my care for him. I went to see if he was okay and wow, he was living his best life, kissing that pathetic cheap mistress, he was blatantly cheating on me and I could not even put a question on it," Arlet lashed out, fisting as anger was boiling her whole body. Meriall blinked at her and felt the urge to correct her.
"Look, my dear, she is his chosen mistress and every king possesses many women. This does not come in cheating," She spoke only to have her fuelled more.
"Would you say the same if your husband had someone behind your back, huh? Would you?" She backfired. Meriall gaped at her with her tongue-tied. She certainly had not seen it coming.
"You would have strangled him to death. That's what I felt like doing when he humiliated me in front of that lowlife. I tried to be a bride, I always tried to be the best match for him, to replace the woman he was in love with but I think I was wrong. He didn't need my love, he needed me so he could punish Azura," Arlet screamed out. She was ripped beyond repair. Did she leave her lover because of this hell? It was better to run away with him than marry this psychotic king.
