五, this isn't about slippers.

I never wore slippers
I would blame the sensory issues,
but i can't remember why i didn't wear them
s̶o̶ i̶t̶ c̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ b̶e̶ t̶h̶e̶ A̶D̶H̶D̶
i'll just take accountability;
up until the day mom appeared with a frown
"these slippers are too small for me, so im lending them to you
In case you want to wear slippers too."
I never wore slippers;
But because she asked me
And because i can't decline without a proper reason,
I accepted them.
And they were so comfortable;
I wore them everywhere.
Soon enough m̶y̶ c̶u̶r̶i̶o̶s̶i̶t̶y̶ I
pointed out her otter slippers that she never wore;
As if they were hidden
and I switched slippers
Because slippers are so comfortable to wear
I wish I realized that sooner
So I could've discovered my liking for them earlier.
If only it was that easy to commit to anything else
And not gaslight myself into hating something I like
but I cry when it's my fault
Because i fail to understand
how much a decision can really affect me
Even if it's only a pair of slippers.
