Judith wondered if it was time itself or just her, that stopped. She was still standing there in the dim basement, the body of a teenage boy soaked in his own blood lying behind her on the couch. She can't get her mind around what she just saw.
She wondered if it was real, but how could it...After taking in all the emotions she was hit with, she placed them on hold.
There was still a chance, she believed. She was still here, moving and breathing, and most importantly she was still Judith.
But she can't be Judith not as long as she was still tied to that bastard; the red-eyed dealmaker demon, and not as long as she was under its mercy.
Judith shut her hanging mouth and wiped off her now-dried tears.
She had a job to finish, a deal to break free off.She looked around for a second and saw that the basement had a couple of small windows leading outside, She decided to use them. She pushed some of the boxes around and stacked them on top of each order, and it's a good thing the windows weren't too high up.
Before leaving, Judith glanced at the dead boy and walked over to him. She took the tape out of her pocket and placed it next to him, making sure it was visible. Then she walked back to the window and climbed up the boxes until she reached it, she struggled with with the rusty window but she managed to open it, she pushed herself up and out of the window.
Once she was out, Judith rushed back to her car. As she ran, she could feel something near, something watching her, and at this point, she didn't care what it was or wanted to know.
She was getting tired of being a magnet for unnatural things.
Judith got to her car, she unlocked it and got in then drove off, heading to the motel where Chris Mitchell is at, to finish him off.
Not long after she left, her phone started ringing and she knew exactly who it was, there weren't many options anyways. She took it out of her jacket's pocket and instead of turning it off, she declined. "How about this." She smirked and when she was about to put it away it started ringing again, this time she declined and turned it off before throwing it in her back seat.
Judith got there quicker than she thought, which she was happy about because the quicker Chris Mitchell was gone the quicker she was free. She parked her car outside the motel and got out.
She already knew which room he'd be in, so she rushed up the stairs and toward that room. She stopped in front of the room and took out the spare key she asked Chris for, she unlocked the door and walked in. "Chris? It's me -" Judith walked into an empty room.
"Chris..?" She called, hoping he was in the bathroom but she knew that was not possible because the bathroom door was wide open and she could see that it was empty. Judith walked in and this feeling- of frustration, took over her. She was about to scream but stopped when she saw the bag Chris packed in his house sitting on the bed, next to it laid a piece of paper.
Judith picked up the paper, there was nothing on it but a weird symbol drawn on it; a circle with an X over it.
"What the fuck is this.." she bit her lip and tore the paper into pieces before throwing it on the floor. "Where the fuck is he!! This isn't fair!! Ugh!!" She fell to her knees.
She just managed to pick herself and now she's starting to give up, things were just not in her favor. Judith sat there on the dirty motel floor, wondering where she had gone wrong.
As she sat there, she started sensing the same feeling she had when she first arrived in this town and at this motel, the feeling she also felt back in the woods when she saw it, that thing between the trees, it was here.
Judith didn't move, she felt it- she felt something coming her way but she didn't move, what can she possibly do? She can't fight it, and back in the woods she would've run but she couldn't.
So, she surrendered to whatever was coming. It didn't take long before everything started buzzing and getting blurry, she looked down and shut her eyes. The static, that she felt in the woods came back and it kept growing bigger as they kept getting closer and closer. Judith slammed her hands over her ears, Her muscles started shaking, and she could feel her own blood boiling, her nose bleeding, and her eardrums about to burst. It was here.
It was here, the thing. It was in front of her now- hovering over her little body. Although Judith kept her eyes shut as she clenched her teeth, she felt it in front of her. Judith wanted to scream but she couldn't, her voice was gone. She kept telling herself not to look, screaming in her own mind, but just like in the woods, her mind was no longer hers.
It was in there, the thing was in her head.
This was worse than Red-eyes, because while Red-eyes had control over her body, this thing had control over her body and mind. She lost, she no longer has control over herself; not physically or mentally.
She realized that when she heard it, she heard the thing in her head calling for her.
It called her name.Judith's eyes shot back open, as her trembling body moved, the thing that called her name made her look at him. She opened her eyes to see the room shaking, it was shaking like a huge earthquake but nothing fell or moved except for her. Her head snapped up and she finally saw it.
The thing, it looked like nothing she had seen before.
Judith's eyes followed the figure's never-ending appearance in front of her, her eyes followed what looked like its legs, tall black branch-like legs, they were covered in black fabric and they went all the way up almost to the ceiling of the motel's room. When her eyes reached its torso, which stood pressed against the ceiling, she saw it was covered in black fabric as well. Her eyes soon fell on the thing's head, which wasn't a head. She didn't know what to make of it, it was shaped like a head, with no face. It had no mouth, no eyes, and nothing at all; but it was looking down at her. Its lengthy stretched-out arms were hovering over her, and Some limps that looked like Branches were coming out of its body from all directions, she couldn't keep up with them.Once she was met with its "face", everything seemed to pause. The static and the pain have paused, and silence, complete silence filled the space, Which lasted for a second. Even if its hold over her was too wore-out, Judith was too startled to move or run, her eyes were fixated on the thing in front of her, staring at it in horror.
After the pause, the thing that took over her spoke.
No, It didn't speak, it filled her head with words, communicating with her. It already called her name, and it did it again. It followed by telling her who she was, as if it knew her her whole life.
The thing knew about the deal, it knew what Judith had done. It knew the being she worked for, and it knew its real name, which it announced for her but she couldn't pronounce it not in a million years. It reached out, the thing reached out for her with its spindly hand.
'There is no happy ending for you.'It told her, it read her mind and already knew what she desired, what she wanted, and wished for. Her previous life, the one she sacrificed...for Him.
The thing reminded her of him, it also reminded her of how and why she is here.
How it all happened, the thing opened her mind, her buried memories, and replayed them for her to remember. She never forgot, but she never visited that day again after what happened. She tried not to think about how she got here at all, she knew it was for Him.
But at the same time, she hated that it was because of Him as well.Him, it was all his doing.
James, Jamie, her little brother.
