Like a deer in headlights, Judith stood in the middle of the road in a state of astonishment."U-uh you don't look good maybe we should call a--" The driver was going on about something, but Judith was too busy staring at the boy in the passenger seat, Chris Mitchell.
It seems like luck brought him all the way to her, she wished it was at a better time though, since she has no energy to handle him at the moment and sure as hell can't, not in the middle of an open road and the other is a boy around.
"H-hah?- what?.....N-NO no cops! No- there's n-no need--"
"Uhh, I meant maybe an ambulance?- you really don't look good--" the boy said.
How dare he, she thought.
She looks good for a person who went through the shit she just went through.Judith sighed deeply and glared at the boy.
"YOU- you just shut UP.""O-okay sorry I- listen we gotta go and- again I'm sorry I really didn't see you there if there's anything I can do to just--"
Her eyes lit up as an idea came to her.
"Yeah...yes- actually, you can." She said. This is how Judith ended up in a car with her final task. As she sat in the backseat, her eyes dug into the passenger seat, locked on Chris Mitchell who she thought didn't look alright at all. However, his mental state isn't in any of her interests.
The driver, who introduced himself as Derek cleared his throat and peeked at her from the front view mirror. "Uh ehm, so...Jenna? Yeah, so where would you like us to drop you again?"
Judith's eyes darted and she looked at him as she gave her best smile. "The trailhead, I left my car there." She answered.
"What--" The boy in the passenger seat, Chris, jumped in his seat and turned to look at her.
"N-no no you can't go there it's--""Chris you can't tell the women what to--"
"Derek my parents are DEAD! Nobody should go there!! They need t-to search that whole damn forest!! I know those fuckers are there--"
"Jesus Chris! Clam down!?" Derek shot him a look.Judith pressed her lips shut and took in what just happened, so they found them already? She considered.
It seems like fate had thrown her into this roller coaster she didn't ask to be on.
She tried to tell herself it was not a big deal, but it is.Judith never stayed after any of her tasks. The minute she got the job done, she would hop into her car and leave. She never stayed to witness her own doing being unraveled and investigated, and this isn't a big town which makes things even worse for her since she's an outsider and can be considered a suspect easily. She didn't need that, she can't handle this.
Shaking herself out of the mental breakdown she is having inside her head, she cleared her throat and screamed at herself to come up with something.
"Um, what are you talking about?" She asked.
Derek sighed and gave her a faint smile.
"I-it's nothing really I'm sorry about him it's just--" he tried to avoid the subject but then Chris snapped at him.
"Really Derek?! Nothing?! Are you fucking kidding me?! My parents just died!! I lost my parents and you think I'm- you know what STOP!! Stop this damn car!!-""Man are you serious?!"
"STOP THE FUCKING CAR!! I swear I'm jumping out--""Okay okay- my god calm down.." Derek ended up stopping the car on the side of the road, not wanting to risk the boy doing anything. Chris stormed out of the car the moment it stopped. "Jesus..I-I'm sorry about this- -" Derek turned to the woman apologizing.
