Chapter 8: Battle of New York Part 2

I have to say that it's been an hour later and the three of us were panting and tired. Natasha had a Chitauri trying to stab her when suddenly she took out what seemed like a circuit out of its neck and shoots it with its own staff. A Chitauri tries to shoot me but I dodge the energy bulb and throw a fire ball at it making a hole in its stomach. Suddenly I turn to see Natasha with the staff pointing at Steve. I walk over and we both lean on the car tired and panting as Natasha puts the staff down. Steve walks over to us and Natasha says, "Captain, this isn't gonna mean a damn thing unless we close that portal".

We all stare at the portal and Steve says, "I don't think guns can touch it" Steve says to her. "Well, maybe it's not about guns" she says to him. More Chitauri land in front of us as the hovercraft drops them. "You wanna get up there, your gonna need a ride" Steve says to her. She drops the staff and says, "I got a ride. I could use a boost though" she walks over to the other side of the bridge and Steve looks at the hover crafts passing by. Steve backs up and gets into position "You sure about this?" Steve asks her worriedly. "Yeah, it's gonna be fun" she responds running towards him. I stop a coming hovercraft and I see Natasha jump on the shield and give her a boost. She lands on the hovercraft and cuts the chain of the Chitauri shooting and shoots it and stabs the Chitauri driving the hovercraft and that's when I let go.

I look at the coming Chitauris one tries to shoot us and I look at Steve he nods and I light my hands up. I run towards them incinerating some, throwing ice daggers at others heads, bashing rocks into their skulls, and drowning them in water. Tony then comes around to us and shoots his phasers at the Chitauri and at the one I lift up, "Thanks, Stark" I say through the com. "No, problem, princess" he says to me and I smile and shake my head. He takes off flying and we see Nat pass by and then I get hit on the back by an energy bulb. Steve takes out the Chitauri that shot me and helps me up. "You ok?" he asks me looking concerned. "Yeah, I'll be fine" I say to him standing up straight and more come. I incinerate at least 4 Chitauris and when I turn to Steve he was on the ground about to get stabbed in the head by one of them. He moves the Citauri's head away and I throw an ice dagger at it.

"Hey, Cap," Clint begins to say to Steve, "there's a bank on 42nd passed Madison. They cornered a lot of civilians in there". "I'm on it" Steve says walking over grabbing his shield. He looks at me and asks, "You gonna be ok?". I nod and respond, "I'll be fine here" then I turn to the on coming Chitauris and burn their heads off. He nods and runs off to the bank. 'Peter you busy?' I ask him through telepathy while fighting Chitauris. 'Kind of. Why?' he says as I finish off the Chitauris. 'Mind giving me a lift to where Steve is so I can help him' I say to him. 'On my way' he says and in a matter of minutes I get swooped off my feet grabbing whatever got me and turn see Peter swing us over to Steve. We land just in time to see Steve stand there with his mask off and civilians exiting the building.

"You alright?" Peter asks him and Steve looks up at us and nods. Then at least 10 Chitauris land in front of us and I say, "I'm getting really tired of these bitches". I make a big fire ball and I throw it at them frying them to little smithereens. "Remind me not to mess with you" Peter says as he looks in the direction where I threw the fire ball. More Chitauris land and the three of us start to fight them as they run toward us. We were all getting tired and then Thor lands next to Steve and I fight with Peter. He webs one and thrashes it on the ground and I throw ice daggers at the others. One shoots Steve on the stomach and they try to shoot Thor and he blocks the energy blubs with his hammer. Both Peter and I help Steve up and we see Thor flip the car over and smash the Chitauris. He turns and throws his hammer at the other Chitauri and looks over to us. "You ready for another belt?" he asks Steve as he looks to his left and right. "Why you getting sleepy?" Steve says and he stands up straight and Thor holds out his hand and his hammer comes flying back.

Just then we hear Natasha in the com, "I can close it. Can anybody copy? I can shut the portal down". "Do it!" Steve says in the com. "No, wait" we hear Tony say to Natasha and Steve. "Stark, these things are still coming" Peter says to Tony looking for him in the sky. "I got a nuke coming in and it's gonna blow in less than a minute, and I know just where to put it" he says. "What is he speaking of?" Thor asks us. "A bomb's headed here and Tony's gonna try to get rid of it" I reply . "Stark, you know that's a one way trip" I say to him looking at the sky but he doesn't answer. Tony passes us and we watch him fly up along the Stark tower and toward the portal. Then more Chitauris come and I light my hands up with fire and as soon as we were gonna fight them, they fall to the ground, dead. I feel relieved but there's still the matter of fact that Tony's still up there. Peter walks up to me and holds me close to him while we stare at the portal. I still had hope that Tony would come flying out of that portal. I mean, sure, he was a dumbass with a high ego, but he's a teammate and a friend.

Just when we think he wouldn't come through I look at Peter with a sad face and he holds me. "Close it" Steve says and I feel the tears start to form in my eyes. I didn't wanna watch the portal being closed so I just bury my face into Peter's chest. "Son of a gun" I hear Steve say and I look back up to see Tony free falling. "He's not slowing down" Thor says and spins his hammer to fly up. "I can't reach him from here with my telekinesis" I say to them and as Thor was about to fly up to catch Tony, Hulk comes out of nowhere and grabs him.

He slides on the side of the building and crashes on the floor pushing Tony off of him. We run over to Hulk and Tony's unconscious body and Thor flips him over and rips his mask off. Steve leans over to Tony's chest and tries to hear for a heart beat but backs away signaling that he couldn't hear a beat. I hug Peter again still staring at Tony. Hulk then roars and Tony wakes up gasping for air and we all look at him with wide eyes and Hulk roars again. "What the hell" Tony says and we smile. "What just happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me, well maybe-" "Oh, hell no! No one kissed you!" I say interrupting him. "We won" Steve says panting and Tony's head falls back as he sighs. I look over to Peter and he takes off his mask and kisses me and I kiss him back. "Knock it off love birds" Tony says to us and we pull back looking at him. "Shut up, Stark, before I open the portal myself and throw you back in there" I say to him.

"Alright, hey, good job guys. Let's just not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day. Have you ever tried shawarma? There's a shawarma joint 2 blocks from here. I don't know what it is but I wanna try it." Tony says and Steve and Peter laugh and I roll my eyes.

"We're not finished yet" Thor says and everyone looks at the Stark tower.

"And then shawarma after?" Tony asks.

I laugh at him and say, "Tony, you idiot".

Thor and Steve help him up and they look at us. I look at Peter and ask him telepathically, 'Shall we swing over there?'. He looks at me with a smile and responds, 'We shall' and he grabs onto my waist and I wrap my arms around his neck. "See you boys there" I say to them and Peter shoots a web and we swing off to Stark Industries. We land on the balcony and see Natasha come up to us, "Where are the others?" she asks us. "On their way" Peter says and a few minutes later everyone else arrives. We walk inside and see Loki climbing the stairs supporting his weight on his arms and he turns to stare at us. I light my hands up and Clint has him at shooting range as we all glare at Loki . "If it's all the same to you," Loki begins to say sitting on the steps, "I'll have that drink now". We glare him down and Thor picks him up and asks, "Oh brother, do you think of me a fool?".

"I am not your brother, Odinson, and yes I do think of you a fool" Loki replies.

"Odin will declare your punishment back on Asgard" Thor says.

Thor drags him along with him and we look at each other. "They have a weird relationship" Tony says and we all nod in agreement, even Hulk. We walk to the helicarrier and Fury told us that he created a new cage for Loki. We all said that tomorrow Thor would leave with Loki and the teseract to Asgard, I look at Peter and we walk out following Thor. Peter grabs my hand while we walk and I turn to him and smile.

We arrive at the hellicarrier and Thor throws Loki in a new cell that Fury created and this time he won't escape. We all walk back to the control room and sit down, exhausted from the fight. "You all did a stupendous job. The Avengers are the heroes of New York" he says to all of us. "Yeah we know we're heroes" Peter says. "Ok people, shall we try that shawarma joint?" Tony asks and I roll my eyes. "Sure, Tony" Natasha replies to him and we all exit the hellicarrier. We walk over to the place that Tony said and it was all full of debris but we ordered and sat down and ate.
