THE WARM, MONACAN SUN in the early afternoon was something that isabel and max could easily agree meant home. both called monaco home, even if there were different reasons.

for isabel, it was her whole life. she was raised in the heart of monte carlo with her brothers in a loving family that was as warm as the monacan sun. almost every core memory stemmed from there and she knew she'd never move to another country because of it. monaco was home because her heart was so deep-rooted into the very core of the principality. unbreakable chains kept her heart locked there and she wouldn't change it for the world.

for max, it was an escape. a new home. as soon as he had the money, he moved as far away from the netherlands as possible, and even if there were places further than monaco, the family he chose took up residency there. daniel had already owned an apartment near his before he moved there, lando recently moved there, charles lived there . . . the family he picked out made monte carlo feel like home immediately. he probably would never move from the principality of monaco under any circumstance because it was where he felt the most safe.

getting to isabel's had been a lot more difficult than max thought. at first they had to separate for obvious reasons and so they left a few minutes between the two. from there, they met up again at the private carpark and got into an unrecognisable car with tinted windows. max wisely kept his mouth shut the entire time that isabel drove because for one, he hated when he wasn't driving, and two, because she seemed like she was already stressed enough.
