The Riddle Twins

Chapter 16

It was finally the Holidays and the students were boarding the train to head back home. Ares, Athena, Draco, Blaise, Daphne, Theo and Pansy were sitting in a compartment, talking about their plans for the holiday. 

Blaise was going to Italy. Theo was going to France. Daphne and Pansy would spend the holidays at their homes. Draco would also be at Malfoy Manor with the occasional visits to Potter Manor which was were Athena and Ares would be. 

They finally arrived at Kings Cross stations where their parents were waiting for them, in Ares and Athena's case it was Remus. Sirius couldn't come out in the open because he was still wanted. There was still no call from their father and neither Lucius nor Severus knew where he was, but they were hoping that they would hear a call from the Dark Lord soon. 

"Cubs!" Remus exclaimed and Ares and Athena grinned and ran towards him, hugging him tight. 

"We missed you Moony." The twins said in unison. 

"I missed you too." Remus chuckled. 

Lucius and Narcissa along with Draco came near them and Remus greeted them.

"Hello Lucius, Narcissa." Remus greeted. Lucius nodded his head and Narcissa said, "Hello Remus." 

"How's Sirius doing?" Lucius asked. 

"He's fine. He's actually enjoying staying there now that we kicked Dumbledore out. He's spending time talking to his mother and Kreacher." Remus said and they look surprised. 

"He's finally talking to her." Narcissa smiled. 

"Any news about the Dark Lord?" Remus asked. 

"So far no. Ever since the graveyard he just disappeared and hasn't been seen or heard from since then." Lucius said grimly and the twins faces fell. 

"I'm sure he'll contact soon." Narcissa said and they nodded. 

They spoke for a while and then bid goodbye to each other promising to visit each other soon. 

The twins and Remus headed out and then Remus brought out a small comb, which was obviously a Portkey. They touched and were whisked away to Potter Manor. The twins were disoriented for a while, having less experience with using Portkeys. 

Remus chuckled and then helped them both up. Sirius was waiting by the door and shouted "Pups!" and then ran forward to hug them. 

"How was school?" He asked. 

"It's alright. But we've got Doroles Umbridge as our Defence Against The Dark Arts teacher and she isn't teaching us anything at all." Ares complained. 

"That bitch." Sirius hissed and they knew why. She had drafted the Ant-Werewolf legislation a few years back because of her hatred for werewolves, whom she considered 'half-breed'. Sirius had hated her for that because Remus couldn't get any job because he was a werewolf. 

"She is." The twins agreed. 

"She's inspecting the classes because she's the High Inquisitor." Athena said. 

"High Inquisitor? That title hasn't been given to anyone ever. She could suspend some of the teachers." Remus said. 

"Indeed. She looks like a toad though." Ares added and everyone cracked up and headed inside.

Ares woke up early and looked outside and it was snowing. He looked at the calendar realized that it was Christmas that day. He became excited as this was the first time he was going to spend Christmas with his family. He only wished that his parents were there. He jumped from his bed and ran to his twin's room. He jumped on the bed and shouted, "WAKE UP THENA. IT'S CHRISTMAS." 

Athena groaned but then blinked at him and then realized what he had said and grinned at him. The looked at each other and smirked. They would prank Sirius and Remus. Sirius and Remus had  stayed at Potter Manor and since the Manor had wards the twins could easily use their wands, because the Ministry wouldn't be able to trace it. 

They ran to Sirius and Remus' room and saw that they were sleeping. The twins summoned buckets and filled them with water and looked at each other. 

They both though, '3...2....1' and dumped the buckets of water on the two. Remus sat up at straight and Sirius woke up and jumped into Remus' arms screaming like a little girl. The twins laughed and ran out of the room. 

"ARES SALAZAR CYGNUS RIDDLE, ATHENA ROWENA FELICIA RIDDLE COME HERE THIS INSTANT." Sirius shouted, but they knew he wasn't angry. 

The twins went back to the room and winked at them before running away. Sirius grinned evilly and transformed to his animagus form and chased after them with Remus following close behind. Sirius transformed back to his human form and jumped on Ares and started tickling him and Remus started tickling Athena. 

"Stop, please." Ares laughed, with tears in his eyes. 

"Do you promise not to do that again." Sirius asked, grinning. 

"We promise." The twins said in unison, gasping. They stopped tickling the twins and dried themselves. The Malfoys along with Severus would be coming over soon. They each went to their respective rooms, got ready and come out to the lounge. 

There was a huge Christmas tree, filled with ornaments, with magical snow and glittering icicles topped with a golden star. Under the tree were a lot of presents, it was like Sirius and Remus were making up for the birthdays that they weren't there for.

Athena got a lot of books, transfiguration, potions, charms. A bunch on robes as well as muggle attire, jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts and sneakers. She also got a quidditch gear.

Ares also got the same, but got books on transfiguration, charms and dueling.

A while later the Malfoys arrived and the three cousins hugged each other, while the adults sat on the couch and talked. Lucius and Narcissa handed the twins gifts and they opened it up to see watches for both of them.

"Thank you" The twins said, grinning and handed their gifts to Lucius and Narcissa.

They gave Lucius a green robe with the Malfoy crest printed on it and they gave Narcissa a matching green gown and the twins insisted that they both wear it together the next time a ball was there.

Draco gave a small package to the twins and they opened it.

"I got matching lockets for us." Draco said grinning, showing his own which was hung around his neck. When you opened the locket there was a picture of the three of them standing with their arms around each other's shoulders, smiling. The twins grinned and hugged Draco, thanking him again and again for being the best cousin ever.

 Ares and Athena gave Draco a rectangular package and when Draco opened it, he saw a photo album filled with photos of the three of them along with their other friends. Draco grinned and said thank you to the twins. 

"Don't forget about the celebrations at our manor today" Narcissa reminded them. Narcissa had invited a few of their friends along with their parents for a small Yule party at their manor.

The others nodded and they headed to the dining room to eat lunch. After lunch, the Malfoys bid goodbye to them and headed back to the manor, while the others began to get ready for the party.
