Fitz's POV

I took a deep breath as I unlocked the door to my new home for the next month. I took a look around the apartment and it was spotless. Everything was clean and organized, the windows and mirrors looked like they were cleaned only recently and not a single thing in the kitchen and living room looked out of order.

"Alvar, you arrived earlier than expected," I heard Sophie's voice from inside a room. Once she came out the first thing that came to mind was

'she's short'

"Yeah, the meeting was cancelled," I answer remembering the excuse Alvar told me earlier. Sophie tilted her head as she looked at me.

"What happened to your eyes?" Sophie asked as she walked closer.

"W-what do you mean?"

"They're teal. You're eyes are usually a pale blue," she said.

"That's what happens when I uh stay out in the sun for to long?" Great excuse.

"Did you get shorter?" Does she have his exact height measurements?

"No, whatever do you mean?"

"You're voice is different as well, are you feeling all right?" She asked as she checked my forehead, for a sign of any fever.

"Sophie, I'm fine," I say, gently putting her hand down, stepping back a bit.

"All right," she said, although she didn't look so convinced.

"I'm going to meet a friend, I'll see you later," she kissed my cheek before quickly putting on her shoes, heading out the door.

I then thought that it would maybe be a good time to bring in my stuff while she wasn't here. I took my car keys and walked to my car and drove to my apartment, going upstairs to the floor. I opened and walked in the room.

I found Keefe leaned against the kitchen counter, eating a bag of chips, his phone in the other hand.

"Hey Keefe," Keefe jumped and screamed. "I didn't know there was girl in the room."

"You didn't scare me," he said crossing his arms across his chest.

"Sure. I just came to get my things," I walked over to my room grabbing the small luggage that I had packed.

"So did she get suspicious?" Keefe asked.

"Kind of? All I can say is that she's very observant. She even noticed how I'm shorter than Alvar by like 1 centimeter," I said.

"Good luck man, but hey, don't totally forget about me," I rolled my eyes playfully smiling.

"Of course I won't. Sophie isn't even my real girlfriend. I just hope she doesn't get even more suspicious in the next month."

"So then do things to help her forget about it. Go out on dates, cook, clean around the house. Things like that," he explained.

"We both know I can not cook for the life of me," I said.

"What do you mean? What about last week?" Keefe remembered.

"Keefe, I ordered it."

"Oh. No wonder it came with a receipt," I chuckled at the blonde.

"I got to head out. Who knows how long Sophie is goin' be out. See ya later," I grabbed my keys and headed out the door, my small luggage in hand. I headed to my car and drove back to the apartment, heading inside, thankfully seeing it empty.

I went in the room and got unpacked with everything, switching out Alvar's things for mine. I remembered Keefe's words and thought maybe I should do something for Sophie. Besides it was probably best if I actually knew how to cook. But then I realized that my skills in the kitchen was baking. And there was one recipe that I could never forget. Mallowmelt. And custard bursts of course but I can save that for another day.

So then I got to it. Thankfully there was everything I needed for the recipe. Once I put it in the oven I cleaned up after myself and left it as spotless as it was the way I saw it.

I sat on the couch as I waited for it to bake and Sophie arrived 5 minutes before they were done.

"Hey Alvar! It smells amazing, are you baking Mallowmelt?" I nodded, a small smile on my face.

"You never bake or cook, why the change of mind?" She asks. Alvar doesn't cook?

"I just wanted to do something special for you," I responded. She smiled and took a seat on the couch, kissing me. Once I heard the timer for the Mallowmelt, I gently broke apart and went to the kitchen turning off the oven and getting the Mallowmelt out, the amazing aroma filling the room.

Sophie leaned on the counter a smirk on her face.

"What's the special occasion?" Sophie asked.

"Nothing, I just wanted to do something for you because you do so much for me. And I know that Mallowmelt is your favorite," Sophie smiled.

"That's really sweet of you, thank you." You know, maybe if I get to know Sophie better, than this month won't be so terrible after all.
