Fitz's POV

The past few days weren't that bad. Although it's taking me a long time to get used to being called Alvar. Lots of times Sophie would call me with Alvar's name and several times I wouldn't respond or pay attention. Every time Sophie would be confused by it but thankfully she would just brush it away.

"Hey Sophie?"

"Yeah?" She said, not taking her eyes off her book.

"Do you want to go out for ice cream?" I ask. She looked up from her book, putting a bookmark on the page she was on and closed it.

"But we just ate an hour ago," she remarked.

"Why not? There's one just down the street, and it's like a 7 minute walk," Sophie shrugged and put her book on the sofa, besides her.

"All right, let me put a hoodie on," she says going into the bedroom soon coming back with a hoodie, and we got our shoes on and headed out the door. Once we exited the building she grabbed a hold of my hand as we started walking to the ice cream place.

We barely said a word on the way, we just walked in silence admiring the view that surrounded us. Once we arrived we stood in the line until it was our turn.

"Hello, what can I get for you today?" the lady asked, the scooper in hand.

"You can start," I tell Sophie. She peaked over the flavors taking a few seconds to decide.

"I'll take the chocolate please."

"Cone or cup?" The woman asked.

"I'll take the cup please," Sophie answered. The woman nodded and scooped the ice cream in the cup, putting a fork on the side and handed it to Sophie.

"And what can I get for you today sir?" She asked sweetly a smile on her face.

"I'll take the mint chocolate chip in a cup please," she nodded the smile not erasing from her face.

"Here you go." after walking back to the register she then told us what the total was, "That's $9.03." I went to reach for my wallet and also saw Sophie reaching for hers.

"Sophie, what are you doing? I'm paying."

"No it's fine, I can pay. I always do," she said.

"Sophie we're putting a stop to that. I'm paying, I insist." And before she knew I had already given the lady my card.

"Enjoy!" We smiled at her and sat on a bench and started on the ice cream.

"You know you didn't have to do that right? I always pay and you've never stopped me before," Sophie said.

"I think it's time I put a stop to that. You already do a lot, it's the least I can do," she smiled and took a small bite of her chocolate ice cream.

"When have you ever gotten mint chocolate chip?"

"Just wanted to get something different." And after that it pretty much silent. Once we finished our ice cream, we just sat and watched the beautiful sunset. Sophie reached to grab my hand and rested her head on my shoulder, which was kind of hard for her since she was much shorter than me.

"Do you want to start heading back?" I ask. She shook her head.

"Just a few more minutes," she answered, and another term of silence began once again.

"I want to started heading back now," I simply nodded and we got up and made our 7 minute trip back to the apartment.

"I'm pretty tired, I'm going to head to bed," Sophie said.

"But it's only 8:30," I responded.

"You know that I like to sleep early, good night," I muttered  a 'good night' back and saw her disappear to the bedroom. I sat on the couch and grabbed the remote turning on a random show.

Once I felt my eyelids getting droopy I turned off the TV and changed into a t-shirt and sweatpants. I then brushed my teeth and put a pillow between me and Sophie, covered myself with the blanket and as soon I my head laid on the pillow, I went fast asleep.
