Raindrops pattered on the roof, creating a monotonous noise that put you at ease. Your eyes peeled open at the sudden heavy rainfall, your sight settling on the raindrops sliding down the glass window of your bedroom.
Thunder rumbled off in the distance, the gray clouds in the sky letting you know that this storm wasn't letting up anytime soon. Your gaze shifted to the clock on the bedside table, the two hands positions to a time that was far too early to begin your Saturday.
Usually when it rained, it added a certain chill to the house. You'd go running to your closet for a sweater for an extra layer or you'd make a mad dash for one of the blankets in the living room. Despite the chill of the room, you were perfectly content and cozy due to the pair of arms draped around you and the firm frame pressed against you.
It took some awkward, yet careful maneuvering, but you managed to roll over to face the man sleeping soundly behind you. His eyes were gently closed, his eyelashes fluttering every few moments or so. You studied his face, fingertips gingerly trailing his cheekbones and the outline of his pink lips. You brushed a few stray hairs from his face, leaving a kiss on his famous scar.
He looked so peaceful when he slept, and it always made you feel relieved when he managed to get some good rest. Ever since the end of the war, you were always afraid of the past keeping him up at night.
Harry finally stirred when he felt your touch tickling his skin. He shifted and loosened his grasp around you when he woke up. The first thing he saw was you staring back at him with a bashful grin on your face. He chuckled deeply, his hand coming to rub his face.
"Morning, darling," He greeted, settling back down and pulling you to him again, "Did you sleep well?"
"Yeah. You?" You nodded.
"Mmhm," He said simply, closing his eyes again, but not set on going back to sleep, "What time is it?"
You alerted him of the early hour, earning a displeased groan from him. He opened his eyes again to glance out of the bedroom window, suddenly noticing that it was storming outside. He felt a wash of joy at the sight, knowing that today was would be a lazy day in.
He leaned up on his elbow, taking your left hand into his. He studied the soft skin, smiling softly and pressing kisses to your palm. The cold silver of your new engagement ring chilled his lips, his eyes observing the ring as if he hadn't picked it out.
"Can't believe it's been a week since I proposed. I can't wait for the wedding." He murmured, pressing another kiss.
"Me too. Now you're stuck with me forever." You teased, kissing the apple of his right cheek.
Harry grinned radiantly, kissing you sweetly and continuing to do so throughout your lazy Saturday indoors.
"Fine by me."
