Dokyeom pov.

"Dude! Focus! Who are you glaring at!?" Boo my best friend of 10 years slapped me slowly on my cheek to bring me back to reality.

"No one." I said as I gritted my teeth in annoyance.

"Ahh.. you're rival is here? What a freaking small world!" He said as he finally saw Joshua. The freaking jerk that just ruins everything.

Joshua was my rival since we were kids. Literally the moment we were born was already a competition. He stood up first but I walked first. Let me just brag for a little. This all started because my mom and his mom used to be friends and enjoy making their kids compete like crazy since they can't compete themselves. They don't talk now, the story was not clear but I assumed it was his mother's fault, she's always fighting people anyway. But that was in the past, unfortunately until now, the competition never ends.

"What is he doing here anyway?!" I complained once again.

"Dude, he's just getting to you head as usual. Don't be fooled. Think about the price, you need to win this despite him being here." Boo said to me and I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I knew he was right but seeing his face here was so annoying to me.

"I know that. But why is he competing here too? Seriously he doesn't even need the money." I complained once again and then Boo rolled his eyes. I know he's sick of me but who cares. I'm just annoyed because I knew I was securing that 10,000 cash already since I was pretty confident of my fans. But as soon as that Joshua guy entered the bar, all attention was on him. And to be clear, I'm not jealous about the attention, I was worried about the votes. Since the audience was deciding through votes, he has a higher chance to win since he's a foreigner and people like that apparently.

"This is why I told you to join. I mean we have more chances together, we have pretty great vocal anyway." I said and then he shook his head. Boo is a pretty decent singer too, he covers some songs on youtube and TikTok but he never really competes or sing in public. He said that his voice was reserved for his soulmate to hear live. Weird I know.

"Dude, trust yourself. You often go to this bar, people know you here, your gonna be great. Who cares if he's here? We both have great vocals, you more than me anyway." He said to compliment me and I just laughed at him.

"You suck at pep talk." I said and then suddenly there was someone that tap my back. And surprise surprise it was that Joshua guy. My mood immediately dropped.

"I didn't know pets are allowed inside this bar.." he said and I rolled my eyes at him. He's such a jerk.

"Wow, you're the first one to use that outdated joke ever. So unique let's clap for him guys? Am I right?" I said sarcastically to annoy him but it didn't work because he just scoffed.

"Good luck beating me, I mean... if you can anyway." He said.

"I will." I said confidently.

"Oh Kyeom Kyeom so brave now." He said teasingky treating me like a child as he was about to pat my head but I grabbed his hands before he could touch my hair.

"Stop calling me that! I have a proper name." I said as I swatted his hands away. He smiled at my action and then walked away and I was literally about to give him a punch but luckily Boo was there to stop me. He's such a jerk so I wonder why he has a lot of friends and people like him.

"Dude relax. You have killer vocals so go there and crush his sorry ass" Boo said as he pumped me up. I relaxed myself as instructed and went to the back stage to get ready.

"I will, vote for me!" I shouted and then he laughed.

"I'll think about it. I heard that foreigner is pretty good." He said jokingly. I punched his arm before going up the stage and he just chuckled at my actions. He's the only one that understand me anyway. He's been with me through ups and down and now he's even helping me raise money for my mother. What a great friend right? But I wont say that to him out loud.
