Chap 8: New Job

Dokyeom pov.

"You know he probably still hates you now." I said to Boo as we were getting ready for our gig. Or should I say, my gig that he got me this week. It was a musical and we have to spend 8 hours a week practicing for it. I auditioned 3 days ago and apparently they loved me already so I'm hear to get the script.

"The feeling is mutual." Boo answered me almost automatically. They definitely don't like each other just to clear things up. But the funny thing is they keep meeting each other like, yesterday... Boo was clearing up something in the bank and guess who showed up? Vernon had to be there because his card was broken or something... what a coincidence right?

Another time was when Boo accidentally saw Vernon's key on the road not knowing it was his and took it to the lost and found.. and then guess who showed up to claim the lost keys, of course it was no other than Vernon himself and once again they both ended up meeting in the police area near the beach. 

I just realized that we have been together for a whole month now. Our situation was a little different now.

"You know what? don't think about anything and just do your best for today after all this is your first day.  As always I will be in the coffee shop just across the street. Break a leg!" He said as he ran to the street. He almost stumbled but it was a good thing the street was clear.

"Be careful! Gosh!" I said as I covered my eyes because of his situation.Then I went into the practice room. One guy then greeted me very excitedly.

"Dk right!? My name is Dino! I'll be you're dance instructor, I guess you read in the script that we were having a little dance number at the end right?" He said and then I just smiled and looked at him.

"Nice to meet you but actually, I haven't read the script yet. I just got in right this second" I said shyly.

"Oh! My bad I was too excited when I found out you were auditioning." He said scratching his neck awkwardly.

"Is he making you uncomfortable? Because if he is then I'll fire him." Another person approached me and this time she was a girl. And if I was not mistaken she was my leading lady.

"Nah he's good he's just a little excited." I said jokingly and they both chuckled.

"Anyway, you must know me already, we met at the comebacks for the auditions. But let me introduce myself formally, my name is Nayeon. I often do stand up comedy and stuff but I wanna try something serious this time." She said as she put her arms around Dino's shoulder like it was nothing. Dino tried to swat her hands away but she put him on head lock.

"Hey! I'm technically your dance teacher too. Stop treating me like a child." He complained and I laughed a little, they were really close already I guess they are friends.

"Oh, so do you wanna meet everyone? I'll help you get closer with them. I met some of them in auditions too." She asked and I immediately agreed. I spent the whole 30 minutes getting to know the people I was gonna work with and it was easier when Nayeon and Dino were around. They really made it much easier for me to adapt quickly. We did a few stretches and a little vocal practices for a while just to warm up a little bit then read some lines. It was like we were just in high school but a lot challenging.

Then after meeting everyone I decided to go to lunch since it was already noon. They asked me to come with them and I told them that Boo was with me who they know already. Seriously he's a bit popular. Then they just asked me to bring him which I did. Now we were in this newly opened restaurant.

"So how was everything?" Boo asked us all. There were a couple of murmurs from the group until Dino finally answered.

"It was fun. Maybe we can get to the actual story line later. I read that there will be some kissing scene going on." Dino teased as he elbowed Nayeon on the side. Everyone teased me back too. But both of us just looked at each other and laughed it off. Since we were both the main lead it was pretty common and really expected for them to ship us. Good thing I didn't find it weird.
