Summer days, warm air, sunshine. Not only do these things remind me of the beach, but it also reminds me of camp! A few years ago, I never would of thought that I would like summer camp! Honestly, I like sleeping and watching videos on my phone. So I really did not think I would like camp.

I was about 11 years old my mom took me to go look at some sleep away camps and I wanted a camp that was close by and only a week long. Little did I know that I was going to Pennsylvania and it was a three week long summer camp!

When I decided I really liked the Sumer camp, I had no idea how hard it was to leave Shumai for three weeks. When my parents drove me to go to the bus to go to camp, I was really nervous because not only was I practically living on my own, but it was kind of far away! The bus came,

"HONK HONK!"

The bus made this loud sound alerting every body it was here. I got my stuff and said goodbye to everybody that brought me and got on the nice cushioned bus. I eventually got off the bus and went to G8, my bunk number. When I got there I set up all the pictures of Shumai next to my bed.

It had already been a week and people already started asking me about the photos of Shumai I put next to my bed. They all thought he was super cute! I thought he was super cute too!

I picked archery, theatre and art as my majors, (or my main activities I would be doing) and I had fun all day! Later, as night started to come, I would get my flashlight and just stare at Shumai's cute little face. If I was not doing this, I would be writing letters to a bunch of people!

"Flash light time is over," our counsellors would yell. I turned off my flashlight and I just stared at the glowing stick on stars I put on the bed on top of me. I would always pick the lower bed because I wanted to put the glow on stars on the bottom of the top bed and it's easier to get too! But I soon closed my eyes and fell into a nice sleep.

"WAKE UP, IT'S TIME TO RISE AND SHINE, WAFFLES FOR BREAKFAST AND LAKE HOUSE FOR G15!" Screamed Lily, (a person who helped run the camp). I woke up doing my majors and fun activities all day.

All of a sudden two more weeks have passed by and everybody is saying goodbye. I never thought I'd make such awesome friends! I also never realized how quick three weeks would go by! But, I was super happy to see Shumai agave. But, I never really missed my family because we always sent letters and got to talk to each other on the phone on Sunday's. I went on the hour long bus ride home and when I got there I had a shirt I had made in heat press saying, "I'm home!" On the front, and on the back it said, "Now let's go!"

I finally got home and ran to Shumai, Shumai ran to me to and we hugged each other. Well, I hugged him and Shumai wagged his tail. Later I just kind of hung out with him playing games because I missed him so much!
