Ahhhhh, the day has come to give Shumai a bath. But Shumai hates baths!

When Shumai was younger he would need to take baths in the sink because he was so tiny! Now he takes baths in the actual bathtub. But either way, he hated it. Soon enough, Shumai would be dirty from rolling around in the dirt, or would do something that would make him need a bath. We never took Shumai to a place where you can have people give your dog a bath. I have no idea why we didn't, but it was actually kind of fun giving Shumai a bath. So we had to give him his first bath in the sink. He would usually not stay still that much, but that was because he was little.

When he got older it was harder to give him a bath. This is because Shumai was bigger and harder to pick up and we had to first get Shumai get into the bath. But for my mom she could always give him a bath no problem. But if it was me and my dad, it took us a while to give him a bath. This is because once you finally get caught up with Shumai running away from you, you had to pick him up and then carry him up 15 stairs and then gently drop him in the bath. This is where my job comes in! I had to make sure he wouldn't get out of the bath tub. Once we put him in the bath he was really mad at us as usual. So every single second he would try to jump out of the bath. But, he never got out! So I guess I was good at my "job".

Once we turn on the water he usually runs to the other end of the bath tub. Then we take some of the warm water and put it on his back. He usually feels ok with it. But, when you put any water on his face, he would flip out. I felt so bad, but then again he was getting super clean!

I could kind of see how Shumai hated getting any water on his face. I mean it was adorable (his big eyes and cute wrinkles). So to just put water on it and ruin it for a few hours, could of been why he hated that part so much.

Anyway, when it was over he looked so weird because all his fur was soaking wet! Then my dad or mom would let Shumai out of the bath by picking him up and gently putting him down. Right after, Shumai does a little shimmy that makes water fly everywhere! He does about five more shimmies within the first hour, as he waits to dry. It usually takes him a while to dry, but in the end he smells like flowers... so it's all worth it!
