Chapter 5 ~ Cheese

Yum. We all have our favorite food. Cheese was the number one food Shumai loved. No matter what, if it involved cheese he would get really happy. Even if he wasn't hungry, he would still eat cheese. I on the other hand don't like cheese. Yes, there are a few things I do like cheese with, but it's definitely not one of my favorite things to eat.

Sometimes I would even take the cheese off what I was eating and give it to Shumai. I never really like eating it anyway. For some reason my favorite part of pizza is the sauce. Some people say to me, "What! How is the cheese not your favorite part?"
I usually say, "I have no idea!"

People act the same way when I say I can't eat bacon. I'm not vegetarian, I just hate how it tastes. I would say Shumai likes bacon, but he has never had any! I feel like he did at one point, and enjoyed it. But as far as I know, Shumai has never had bacon.

Now I'm curious if dogs are even allowed to eat bacon. The main question I honestly have is why dogs can't have certain foods! I mean does chocolate trigger something bad in a dogs body? My grandma's dog had chocolate one time by accident, and he is totally fine still today.

If all dogs can't have a certain type of food, then why don't humans have the same thing? For instance, imagine all humans can't have ice cream. It seems kind of weird that all humans can't have ice cream but dogs can. Yes people have allergies, but everybody in the whole world doesn't have allergies.

To simplify what I'm saying is food is weird. Some things are good for people, some things are bad for people. But, why is this? Why does somebody have an allergy to food, but somebody else can eat a whole jar of it. Dogs have the same thing, except for the fact that ALL dogs can't eat the same type of food.

But, as I was saying, Shumai's love for cheese was crazy. One time he was sleeping, and I put a small piece of cheese next to his nose, and his head went up super fast. He ate that small piece of cheese within a few seconds. Honestly, it was very impressive. But, this just states that no matter if he is in a deep sleep or running outside, he would still get up for cheese.
