I had a dog before Shumai, and his name was "Saki". I really didn't get to know Saki that much, but all I could remember is me sleeping with him when I was little on his dog bed. I was sad because both my parents told me he had to see his family up in heaven because he missed them so much. I was only 3 or 4, so I believed that. I was pretty sad because I did not want to say goodbye. So I slept with his bed all night, and I held his paw. But when I woke up, there was nothing next to me. I started bawling for a while, but I was happy he could see his family. I found out when I was older that Saki had cancer, and the doctors had to put him down because he was too sick. I was pretty upset to hear this news, but at least he was feeling better. But, I was upset for so long that my parents had coasters of his face they put next to my bed. Just so he can be next to me every night. I still have them next to my bed, and a hand sewn picture of him that said "Saki". Which I also still have next to my bed. But, I got Shumai within this process, and my life became so much better! I became happy everyday, and every night.

We got a new dog named sushi after saki died. I was wondering why all the dogs I own are starting their name with an "S" and have their names be about food, or drinks. Shumai's name was after a dumpling, Saki's name was after a wine, and Sushi's name was just after a certain type of food! But I still like the idea of that, it can keep a tradition.

When I was little I saw pictures of Shumai and he looked super cute! He looked exactly like Saki and Sushi. But, I think that's only because they all were the same breed. He was wearing a sign around his neck that says "HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!!!" Saki took great photos too! But, I especially like the photo of Shumai with his head tilted. I'm pretty sure that it's not just me that thinks it's adorable when dogs have their head tilted. Anyway, Shumai and Saki could've been dog models, if that's a thing. I know whenever I would look at Shumai he would look so artsy.

One time I was hanging outside, and I looked to my right and I saw Shumai standing on the grass, with his head tilted towards the sun. The clouds looked gold and white at the time, so it looked super cool. I only saw photos of Saki and I just assumed he was artsy. Meanwhile, I have no idea about Sushi, but I'm hoping he was artsy too! So another tradition can go on.
