I'm relaxing on the couch upstairs in the Knights of Favonius headquarters when Kaeya comes up the stairs, his hair dripping with rainwater from the downpour outside. I set my book down and meet his gaze. He looks pained, like there's something bothering him.

"Kaeya? What's wrong?" I ask.

"Can...can we talk? I need someone to talk to and I know you said you'll always be there to listen but-" I walk over to him and take his hand.

"Of course we can. Do you want to talk here or somewhere more private? We could go to my quarters, if that's easier," I offer.

"Is that okay?" he asks. I nod. I lead him to my room and close the door behind us. He sits down on the chair in front of my desk and I perch on the edge of my bed.

"What do you want to talk about?" He looks hesitant.

"Well...I should probably start by saying that I'm not from Mondstadt. I'm from Khaenri'ah. I was abandoned by my birth father. I'm...an agent, I guess. Master Crepus took me in. Diluc and I were like brothers for a while...until Crepus died. Diluc and I fought, that's why I hide my eye. That's also when I got my Vision. I-I don't know who I'm loyal to anymore-" He starts to cry, looking away from me. I go over and hug him.

"Hey, hey, it's okay," I whisper.

"D-Don't leave me...please...I-I can't lose anyone else..." he mumbles, his voice breaking.

"I'm not leaving, Kae, I promise. You won't lose me, Love~" I freeze, realizing what I said. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-" I start. I release him and look away, but he holds my chin and makes me look at him.

"Did you mean it?" he asks. I nod.

"Of course I did. I've loved you for a long time, Kaeya," I say quietly. He smiles and presses his lips to mine. I kiss him back, threading my fingers in his hair. I feel him smirk against my lips before he pulls away.

"I love you too~💙"
