The door to the library closes loudly. I lean against it and sigh.
"Welcome to the library," Lisa calls out. "How can I help you?"
"Hey, Lisa," I reply. "Is it okay if I stay in here for a little while?" I go to my favorite corner, hidden by the bookcases. I hear footsteps approaching and Lisa comes into view.
"Overstimulated?" She asks. I nod, sitting down. Her face softens. "Anything I can do?" I shake my head.
"I think I just need some space for a little bit. Is that okay?" She nods.
"Of course, that's always okay." I settle into my spot and take out my notebook and pen. The silence of the library is comforting. It calms my nerves.
I don't know how much time passes before Lisa comes back with a hot cup of tea. She sets it down on the table with a smile.
"Here. I made you some tea to help you relax," she says. I smile at her.
"Thanks, Lisa," I say. She glances at my open notebook.
"What are you writing?" She asks.
"Oh, it's just a little story."
"Can you tell me about it?" She asks, sitting down across from me. I nod.
"Sure." I explain the plot of my story to her in detail, describing the different characters and their relationships with each other. She listens intently as I speak, never once taking her eyes off me. When I finish explaining, she smiles.
"That sounds really interesting. When it's finished, could I read it?"
"Maybe...I don't usually share my writing with other people. I don't want them to judge me," I admit shyly. She puts her hand on mine.
"I understand, that's a valid feeling to have. I want you to know that I will never judge you for anything, Cutie," she says with a smile. I blush.
"Thanks."
"Are you feeling any better?" I nod.
"Yes, I am. Thank you for letting me stay," I say.
"Of course, anytime." She looks away, pink tinting her cheeks. "Would you like to visit the Cat's Tail for dinner with me? It's getting late."
I nod.
"I'd like that."
