"She's going to be okay?" Y/N sighed in relief, taking in the fact that their mission was successful.
"Yes, her injuries have already been healing at an exponential rate, she should make a full recovery." Ward spoke proudly through the phone, "And hopefully we destroyed everything that the Clairvoyant could use."
"That's amazing." Y/N smiled, "I cannot wait to see her in the morning when you guys pick me up."
"Yeah I'm sorry that you have to stay in New York another night," Ward sighed on the other line, "you okay to stay by yourself?"
"Yes." Y/N replied reassuringly, "I'll be back before you know it, I love you."
"Love you more," Ward replied before hanging up the phone.
Y/N was about to put the phone down when another call came in through the line. Unknown. Wasn't uncommon, so she cautiously pressed the answer as she put the phone to her ear. When she answered she heard shaky breaths come from the other line.
"Hello?" She spoke, worrisome lacing her voice.
"Hey, uh Y/N?" A familiar voice spoke, Matt Murdock, one she had just met for the first time today.
"Matt, hey everything okay?" She said, confused.
"I-Is it too soon to get your help?" He said his voice was still shaking a lot.
"Yeah, what's up?" She said scratching the back of her neck, "I'm still in New York, where are you?"
"Hell's Kitchen." Matt breathed out, "An apartment between West 27th and West 63rd. You can enter through the roof straight into my place."
Y/N sighed in slight frustration thinking about what she might be getting herself into, but in the end, she did owe him, "I'll be there as soon as I can."
Packing up her weapons, and slipping into a more covert outfit, she made her way out of the comfortable hotel room she was going to reside in. Calling a cab, she made her way over to the address Matt had given her. When she arrived she was met with a tall apartment complex. To the roof it was. She went to the alleyway beside, noticing the fire escape. It looked out of date and probably dangerous, but she climbed up it anyway making it to the roof. She saw the door entrance, and slowly crept in, being met with a second story immersing into a corner loft."Matt?" She spoke out, making her way down the stairs.
Matt emerged from a sliding door, in a sweater over his head, hands shaking and covered in blood. Y/N rushed faster down the stairs as she made her way over to him.
"Woah, what happened?" She said, concerned, "Is your wound bleeding?"
"It's not m-my blood." Matt stuttered in response, his eyes not meeting hers.
Y/N let out an exhale of relief, "Well that's good." She grabbed his arms and sat him down on his couch, "what happened?"
"How is it good that it's not my own?" He said with a sad laugh, "I hurt someone."
Y/N sighed and smiled lightly, "You were probably just defending yourself."
"I wasn't." Matt said truthfully, "he deserved it."
Y/N looked at him confused, she didn't want to question him, but there was an obvious impediment that would stop him from fighting. She didn't speak, confused on the matter. Matt took this as her not condoning his violence, which in reality, violence was something she knew all too well.
"Damn it, I shouldn't have called anyone." He said putting his head in his hands, "You think I'm a monster."
"No, I don't think you're a monster." Y/N responded in contemplation, "I'm just trying to figure out how to ask you a question without being mildly offensive."
