The cold metal felt all too real on her skin, as her skin sizzled on the table, the glowing colour getting brighter. The pain was getting stronger. Y/N's screams of agony filled the room in echoes as her heart could be heard in the drums of her ears. Her eyes darted up to see Ward looking over at her. The emotion in his eyes was gone, just straight staring into her soul.

"Ward, please," She cried, "Please, let me go."

But her voice was gone. She pleaded and pleaded, but not a peep could be heard. She couldn't move. She was bound to the table. The searing pain was getting worse and worse. Until her vision went fuzzy and black.

Y/N woke up with a gasp, covered in sweat. Holding her chest, she breathed hard, processing that it was all once again a nightmare. It had been six months since it all went down, and the trauma still lingered. She tried to slow down her breathing but it only got heavier, her heart working overtime. She squeezed her eyes shut trying to forget the painful memories but they were stuck in her brain. It felt like she was heating up inside, like her blood was boiling. As her eyes were closed, somehow the sight was still getting brighter. Opening her eyes, she looked down to her arms. Her veins glowed a familiar colour, getting brighter just like in her dreams. But this was reality. Her eyes widened as she felt almost frantic, thinking she might just explode. Shutting her eyes again, she took a bigger breath, trying to take her mind off the dream. Instead, she thought about her dad. About Skye. About Fitz and Simmons. About May. About Trip. About Matt. Her friends and family. Her mind calmed down, as her breathing steadied. Opening her eyes once again, she looked down at her arms to see nothing. It was back to normal. Her hands reached to the bedside table, turning on the lamp before checking the time on her phone. 4:21 AM. Sighing, she got up, making her way out of her room, and into the base. Her bare feet hit the cold floor, causing a shiver up her spine, as she walked through the empty hallway. Most of the team went out on a mission last night, leaving her behind. Ever since the incident she had benched herself, wanting to train herself before heading back on out. It had been months since in the field, and as much as she missed it, she thought it was safe forever, especially with her new predicament. Walking to the common room, she made her way over to the cupboards to grab a glass of water. Sitting down on the couch, she opened her phone to call the only person who might be awake right now.

The phone rang a couple of times before he picked up, "Hey," She said softly.

"Hey," Matt replied, "What are you doing up?"

"Couldn't sleep," She sighed, rubbing her eyes, "You? What's happening tonight?"

"Human trafficking," He seethed, "Teenage girls."

Y/N bit back on what she just heard as she gulped, "But you saved them?"

"Yeah, I did," He sighed, "I'm glad I got there when I did."

"Me too," She smiled through the line, "You're back home now?"

"Mhm," Matt muttered with a yawn, "Just relaxing before Foggy and I go check out places in the later morning."

"So what you're saying is you should be sleeping," She suggested with a chuckle.

"Maybe," He laughed back, "But then I can't talk to you... And ask you why you're not sleeping."

She laughed slightly through the phone, "I had a nightmare."

"Again?" He said worriedly, "Y/N..."

"It's okay," She tried to reassure, "I'm just trying to move forward."
