Jisoo waited almost 2 whole hours for Ruby Jane after Jennie left.
She sat in the sand, staring at the ocean when Lisa came up to her with Jisoo's phone.
She held the phone to her ear nervously and asked, "Hello?"
"Jisoo." Jennie asked worriedly over the phone. "Are you still at the beach?"
Jisoo nodded before realizing Jennie can't see her. "Yes."
"Ruby...Ruby just came home. She's really tired from work....she'll-she'll meet up with you again."
Jisoo sighed and chuckled into the phone. "Yeah...yeah I figured. Thanks for telling me. Who knows how much longer I would've waited?"
"Jisoo, I so sorry—"
"Goodbye Jennie." She hung up the call and laid on her back with a disappointed sigh.
Lisa came and sat next to her. "She's not coming?"
Jisoo chuckled and shook her head. "Yup" she said with a loud pop of her lips saying the word. "Honestly, other people have lives. I can't just assume someone can always be there on time. Besides, she's seen me. I haven't seen her and I'm asking for her. She probably thinks it's weird."
Lisa nodded. "I know I would be weirded out."
Jisoo glared at her and said sarcastically, "Thanks for the vote of confidence."
Lisa scooted closer. "Look, all I'm saying is, the only way this girl will agree to meet you right now...is to trust you. And what better way to get her to trust you than winning over her best friend?"
Jisoo sighed and thought about. "So you think I can see her if I win over Jennie? Like...woo Jennie?"
Lisa shook her head. "No...not exactly....how about just...going out with her...as friends. Show her what you can do on a date." She smiled brightly as if it was the greatest idea she ever had.
"Don't you think she might take it the wrong way? What if she falls for me?"
"Ok. I know you don't have an inflated ego so why don't you rephrase this question?" Lisa said with a smirk.
Jisoo sighed and looked at the sea again. "What if...what if I lead Jennie on? Do you think she's the type of girl to blur the line? Because I'm only interested in Ruby Jane."
Lisa shook her head. "No. I think if you tell her upfront. She's sensible and doesn't like you very much—"
Jisoo punched her shoulder. "So should I call Jennie back and ask her for a...what?...Date?"
Lisa thought for a moment. "Hang out." Then she pointed to Jisoo's phone. "Explain what I explained to you."
Jisoo sighed and nodded. She picked up her phone and called Jennie.
The brunette picked up within one ring. "Hello?"
"Jennie...hi."
"Hi, Jisoo. Is everything ok?"
Jisoo cleared her throat. "I was wondering if you might...want to...hang out?"
"Both of us?" She asked suspiciously.
"It's just so that you can know me better. You obviously don't like me so why don't I convince you that I'm perfect for Ruby Jane?"
"Umm...so is this like a..." the brunette hesitated over the line before squeaking out, "date?"
"No! No no no—"
"I think that's enough denial, Jisoo." Jennie said with vehemence.
Jisoo swallowed. "So what do you say?" She looked at Lisa and the ginger held up 3. "Wednesday? 7pm?"
