Xander’s POV~Six Years Ago
After our first time together, it was like unleashing beasts we both had leashed. Any chance we got, we had sex. It was better and better every time and she was a very enthusiastic lover. It made my heart soar everytime she gave herself to me willingly. I was always terrified, one day, I would lose her.
Two years together and she continued to love me as fiercely as she did when she first said it. The feeling was mutual. I loved her and I wanted to be with her forever.
She laid beside me, warm and sweaty from our latest roll between the sheets and light from the moon made her hair look like pure silver. It had been a challenge to keep quiet when her inner walls hugged me so soundly and her nails raked down the length of my back. But we had become experts in the art of staying quiet while having sex, especially since it was mostly at her parents house, in the dark of night when she was supposed to be sleeping and I had “left” hours earlier.
I ran my hand over her smooth back and slid my finger into the groove of her spine all the way to the end where I splayed my hand along her lower back. She hummed, tightening her arms around my neck and I inhaled her warm vanilla scent and buried my face in her neck.
My heart hung heavy in my chest as I held her, fusing our bodies together as one. Our hearts were beating against each other, I loved her and I wanted to be with her forever. I squeezed her a little tighter and smoothed my hand over her silky hair.
I glanced at the little mesh bag I had placed on her nightstand before we started, remembering the weight of it in my pocket when I walked to her house after her parents went to bed. What would she think of what I had to ask her? I feared she’d think we were too young, but fuck that shit. I knew how I felt about her wouldn’t change, I would love her in twenty years the same way I loved her now.
Did she feel the same?
Surely, she did… she had to. One couldn’t make up the love that was between us. She looked at me like I was her hero.
With a deep breath I pulled away only slightly so I could look down at her face. “Melody,” I whispered, cupping the side of her face up to meet my eyes.
She smiled and I could tell she was feeling sated and sleepy, but I needed to ask her tonight. “Yes baby?” She cooed, pressing her soft lips against my bicep that rested beneath her head.
I closed my eyes, not willing to let her distract me from my purpose. “I love you a lot.” I paused, my mouth turning unbelievably dry.
Melody giggled, snuggling closer, she was very fond of naked cuddling. “I love you very much!”
I couldn’t help but smile, her love and happiness were contagious as I brushed my nose along hers, nuzzling her face. “I want to be with you forever,” I whispered.
Her eyes snapped to mine and her brows furrowed. We had had this conversation a lot, many confessions and countless conversations about our feelings after we made love. Yet, she seemed to know this one was different from the others.
“Will you marry me, Melody?”
She gasped so quietly, tears shined in her eyes as she searched my face. “Xander…”
I swallowed hard and reached over her. “I have a ring…”
She cut me off. “I don’t care.” She tackled me down on the bed, her face buried in my neck. “Yes, yes yes!” She whispered, clinging to me ever so tightly.
My chest swelled and I held her to me. “I love you, Melody.” I murmured in her neck, squeezing her so tight.
She giggled and kissed me. “I love you too.” She breathed.
Detangling myself from her, I leaned over to grab the mesh bag and opened it, letting the ring tumble out into my hand, offering it to her. She’d told me so many times she wanted something thin, a unique band with intricate designs and small stones. And I had found the perfect one: The band looked like a twig with small leaves with the smallest diamond.
The jeweler had tried to sell me on big flashy diamonds, but as soon as I had seen that one I knew it was the one for her. I took her hand and slid the ring onto her ring finger, pressing a kiss to her knuckles. “It looks beautiful on you, Melody.”
She shook her head, hands framing my face. “I love you so much, Xander. I’m so happy this time has come, there is no one else I would rather be with. When we talk of the future, my heart aches and all I want is that with you. The little trailer house across from our park, my job as a writer and yours as a carpenter. I want it… I want you…” She whispered, tears filled her eyes, as she pressed her lips to mine.
Melody’s leg slid over my hips, settling her pelvis over mine and rolled over. I knew exactly what she wanted. I ran my hands over her back and slid one hand into her long strands, her soft hair tickled my arm as I wrapped the length over her hair around my forearm.
We found a rhythm together and a sense of rightness came over me in the moment when she laid on top of me and we were one, just how we were supposed to be.
Sweet words and ragged breaths filled the air. Her breath puffed against my chest as she slid up and down my length and I held on tightly to her soft thighs. Her thumbs slid over my cheeks as she lowered her lips onto mine, kissing me over and over, our lips interlocking again and again.
“Be mine, always,” she whispered in heaving breaths.
My erection throbbed in time with my heart. Damn this beautiful girl. “I’m yours, sweetheart, always.” I promised, pulling her in for a long deep kiss, sliding my tongue deep in her mouth to taste her sweet depths, drawing a soft whimper from her
The words spurred us on and before we knew it we were falling over the edge for the second time that night. She collapsed on my chest, panting, her eyes closed and heart beating hard against mine.
That night is one that became embedded in my mind, my happy place in a sea of uncertainty. Because one thing was for sure and would always remain true. I was hers and she was mine.
