Joe was in the middle of eating his dinner when he heard a ping coming from his phone. He quickly unlocked it just to see it was a notification from Instagram. His eyes narrowing at the text in disbelief.

*Chelseax94 just shared a post*

He hasn't heard from her ever since she texted him after that night by the river,  promising him that she'll meet him the moment they're both free. Yet, it's been a week and there's still no word from her.

Throughout the week he found himself constantly checking her account to see if she had posted anything. He wanted to make sure she was okay after what happened to her when she left him by the river. Especially since she didn't dare to tell him anything yet until they finally meet. Ja'Marr had even caught him one time and now he has made it his life's goal to constantly tease Joe about his new 'crush'. He was lucky that the rest of the guys on the team remained oblivious to what was going on. He would have no idea what to do if they ever found out.

Most of the time, Joe made sure he stayed clear from any posts that were deliberately about him and had turned off notifications for any new followers and tagged posts. But, was it so bad to turn his post notifications on for his best friend's sister, who posts weekly updates of her life? Of course not. It's not his fault that she always has his curiosity at its peak.

Without thinking, Joe clicked on the notification and was left awestruck.

She looked absolutely beautiful in that dress to the point Joe couldn't help but stare at the picture for what felt like hours. The thin material showcased her curves perfectly, the color making her skin look like it's glowing. But, seeing her now, looking all dolled up and apparently hanging out with her friends made him feel slightly jealous. She has time to go out to who knows where at 11 at night, meanwhile he was sitting at home waiting for her response.

'Was he not a priority to her? Has she already moved on from that night at the river?' Joe questioned himself. The thought left him feeling bitter. After the events that unfolded that night there was no way she could have easily forgotten about it. Right?

Shockingly, a text popped onto the screen, Joe's heartbeat starting to beat faster as if he had just been caught red-handed. Her name shone clearly through the screen as if she knew he was looking at her most recent post. He felt his lips form into a small smirk as he read her text.
