"Her heart was as fiercely loyal
AS IT WAS BROKEN."STELSA FIDDLED WITH THE ends of her hair while Caspian worked on braiding it back. His hand swatted at her fingers and he hissed, "Stop that. You'll ruin my masterpiece." Stelsa did not mind his scolding as her fingers mindlessly went back to toying with the fabric of her dress. Her legs thrummed with excitement for the evening, wanting nothing more than the sun to begin its descent so the feast could begin.
"I cannot help it." Stelsa breathed out, looking up towards the sealed wooden door in front of her. She was tempted to leap into the sky herself and pull the sun lower right now, but at the same time wished to push it further into the sky. The days had flown by but had dragged on. Stelsa knew it was foolish to think that. That statement was the definition of a contradiction, but she could not help it. It seemed like time was passing far quicker than she dreamt it could, but far too slowly at the same time.
The moment Jaehaerys had taken his first step, Stelsa found herself mesmerized by each first accomplishment that happened. Each free moment was spent in the company of the twins, encouraging them to say her name and to walk. Her finest accomplishment to this day was convincing them to call Aegon by the name Egg. Gods, she had laughed so hard she swore her body would give away from it. Stelsa would watch as Jaehaerys ran through the gardens after a butterfly while sweet Jaehaera sat in her lap, observing her twin brother and softly babbling to Stelsa. Many of the ladies thought Jaehaera to be a mute, but Stelsa knew her sweet girl better. All Jaehaera wanted was peace and comfort, the moment these two things were obtained she would babble all day long. Stelsa could talk about the twins for days, explaining every little detail that set them apart. The only person who seemed to mimic her excitement was Heleana — the very woman who watched and clapped at each milestone.
Yet with each milestone lurked the realization that the twins were growing older. Stelsa knew they were only four, but her heart mourned for the babies they once were."Well learn how to." Caspian quipped back, breaking Stelsa from her thoughts. Dyana softly giggled at them before her blue eyes looked up to Caspian.
"Perhaps Stelsa would be tamed if you were to tell about your little messenger boy." Dyana pressed her cheek to her palm, leaning against the counter as she said this.
"Oh? Do tell, Caspian." Stelsa agreed, smirking up at a Caspian as his pale face grew red. Stelsa had found that Caspian would not relinquish this idea that she and Aemond were more than friends, but she also found that teasing him about his own love affairs made up for that.
Caspian tugged a little harsher on a strand of hair making Stelsa hiss and glare at him. "There is nothing to say." Caspian brushed off the topic, but Dyana refused to accept that.
"Is he a good kisser?" Dyana questioned, her blue eyes widening in excitement. "Perhaps he is not if you dare not say much about him."
"...He is an excellent kisser." Caspian muttered, clicking his tongue. "You two meddle in my affairs far more than you should, you know that?" Dyana waved her hand, brushing that off while Stelsa shrugged.
