TRAPPED BETWEEN AEMOND'S hands was a new book that he had found, once more lying around the Keep. He really needed to have a talk with Caspian about this. Caspian should count his blessings that it was Aemond who kept finding these books he kept leaving behind and not Aba. With a sigh of irritation, that did not truly feel irritated, Aemond turned the corner inside the Keep and continued to walk down the hall. As he passed the Lords and ladies inside the four walls, he found himself unable to pay them much attention. Most had simply begun to overstay their welcome but were too busy enjoying the luxuries offered at the Red Keep. He was sure most of them were too busy vying for the council's attention, or were too busy trying to find the latest gossip to notice how long it had been.

Aemond noticed. They had become pests, and not the kind Stelsa was. These were true pests that Aemond wished to have removed. But for the sake of his mother and his duty as a prince of this realm, Aemond simply nodded to the Lords and ladies who bowed as he passed and said nothing. He turned down a lone hall and sighed, finding the courtyard to be empty. He nearly fell to his knees and thanked the Gods for that, but it was simply because he was entering the royal side of the Red Keep. No lords or ladies were allowed here.

Thank the Gods for that.

"My prince." Aemond's head snapped up to find a guard posted along the wall, breaking Aemond's solitude. He didn't mind as his eye focused on which guard it was — Ser Rhyk. "What are you doing here? Should you not be enjoying flying on this beautiful day?" Rhyk questioned the prince as he came to stand near him.

"It would appear my dragon has taken to enjoying the skies without me today." Probably in a search for a good spot to sunbathe, Aemond presumed. Aemond held the book behind his back as he glanced around the courtyard. It was quiet here, allowing one a moment alone with their thoughts.

"I cannot blame her for that. It would be a beautiful day to just kick back and fish." Rhyk sighed as he looked up at the sky, but Aemond looked at the guard in confusion.

"Fish? I did not take you for a fisher." Aemond questioned, watching as the guard turned his attention back to him.

"My father was a fisher. He used to take me out on days like this and teach me the ropes. I like to believe I had more skill than my older siblings did in it, but alas they were older so they inherited the business after my father passed. Me? Well-" Rhyk gestured to himself and slightly chuckled. "We see where I ended up."

Aemond hummed as he toyed with the edges of the book in his hands. "How many siblings do you have?" Aemond asked and watched as Rhyk sighed.

"I was the youngest of ten. Often overlooked besides those days my father took me fishing. Five boys, including myself, and four girls. My parents had their hands quite full with us." Rhyk relaxed as he thought back to his childhood, mucking about the fields. "I had always wanted more though. Being the youngest boy, I wanted to prove myself to my older siblings and father."
