"The white winds
HOWL AT THE DOOR."

THE SWEET SOUNDS OF BIRDS echoed from the edges of Heleana's dreams, reaching out to her as she sat in the middle of the snow around her. Their songs roused her enough to open her eyes, feeling the sun reach to touch her pale skin. Heleana slowly sat up in bed, glancing around her room that brightened with the sun through the windows. "Princess, you are awake." Heleana turned to see Tayla, her mother's lady, step forward into the light. A small smile found a home on Tayla's features. "I brought you breakfast."

Heleana blinked, reaching up to rub her eyes of the sleep that wished to tug her back into bed. "Breakfast? But I have breakfast with my mother." Heleana yawned as Tayla rounded the bed, pulling back the covers so Heleana could rise from the comfort of its sheets.

Tayla's small smile fell and she glanced towards the door. "I am afraid your mother has other plans this morning, but asked that I ensure you enjoyed your breakfast." Tayla softly explained as Heleana stood from her bed, helping her wrap herself in her robe.

"Doing what?" Heleana questioned as she followed Tayla out into the common area of her chambers. Tayla refused to meet her eye. "Will Aemond or Aegon be joining me instead?" Heleana countered and watched as Tayla shifted, pouring Heleana a glass of water and pulling her single chair out.

"I am afraid Prince Aegon is still in bed and Prince Aemond..." Heleana sat down and took the water recently poured. She could taste the salt as she pressed the cup to her lips, and it burned as it went down her throat. "...is having breakfast with your mother." Heleana cleared her throat and put the glass of water to the side causing Tayla to frown. "Would you like some tea?"

"Please." Heleana stared at the glass of water, confused at the way her throat dried up as though she had drank ocean water. Heleana watched as Tayla turned to tend to prepare her tea. "Who are my brother and mother having breakfast with?" Heleana watched as Tayla's shoulders fell. She remained silent for a moment longer before she turned, giving Heleana a tight-lipped smile.

"Your mother figured you would ask. She told me to tell you that the time has come to consider options for your brother in marriage. Your mother is taking all potential suitors into consideration before she decides." Tayla placed the cup of tea down before Heleana, but this time Heleana makes no move to grab it. "This is a joyous time, princess. Soon you will have a new sister by law to sit with you. If the Gods are good, perhaps a new niece or nephew too."

Tayla's hopeful words were drowned out by the sounds of wind pushing against the windows. Heleana watched as Tayla scolded the wind and moved to open the window and cease its rattling. It still howled in Heleana's ears. "..Who is my mother having breakfast with, Tayla?" Heleana questioned in a tone barely above a whisper. Her teeth found the skin of her lips and she tugged at it when Tayla turned, but this time Tayla wore no smile.

Stelsa could barely conceal her smile as she entered Heleana's chambers, finding the twins and Maelor playing on the ground together. It was oddly quiet inside the chambers — there were no other ladies inside the four walls. Heleana sat on her couch with nothing to occupy herself, she meret watched the three children say below. Stelsa brushed that away as she quietly closed the door behind her. Her friend perked up from her spot as Stelsa entered, causing the children to turn her way too. "Stelsa!" Jaehaerys cheered as he abandoned his toys, racing over to wrap his arms around her legs.
