WITH FIRE AND BLOOD."STELSA LAUGHED AT CASPIAN as he curled his nose. "She said what?" Caspian gasped, shaking his head and making his blond hair fly everywhere. "To you? Of all people?" He laughed, placing his face between his palms. "The nerve!" It only served to make Stelsa's giggles more severe from where she sat across from him, belly full from the dinner they had just had. It was only them left inside the room as her father and uncle had watch duty tonight and Aba and Dyana had gone to finish a few tasks for the evening. The two of them sat in front of the crackling fire, gossiping about the day's affairs.
It is what led Stelsa to tell her dear brother what Cassandra had said to her alone in the halls. She hummed at her brother's reaction, grinning as she sipped on her water. All she could do was laugh about the words now that the fire in her veins had run its course. "Caspian, I do not think I have ever been that angry." Stelsa told him and her brother lifted his head.
"If she thinks she can just waltz in and steal the prince, she has another thing coming." Caspian determined, grinning wildly at Stelsa. His blue eyes became starry with a plan and his grin widened into a smile.
Stelsa hesitated asking him about it. "What is running through that mind of yours?" Before Caspian got a chance to answer, the door to their room swung open and Dyana came racing in. "Dyana?" Stelsa rose from her spot, setting her glass down to reach out and grab Dyana's fidgeting hands. "What is the matter?"
Dyana squeezed Stelsa's hands tightly in her own trembling ones. "It is the prince. While Aba and I were finishing cleaning the princess' chambers, Aemond returned from his affairs with the other lords. He.." Dyana paled as she met Stelsa's gaze. "His knuckles were bloody and bruising as though he had beaten someone." Dyana confessed in a hurried whisper, watching as Stelsa's features tightened and she glanced towards the door.
"Who did he fight?" Caspian questioned aloud, looking at Dyana who swallowed. "...Dyana, who did he fight?" He questioned lowly, eyeing the nervous girl.
"Lord Greyjoy returned a mess." Dyana confessed, still seeing the stumbling lord with his face beaten close to no recognition — his face swelled through the purple and blood that caked his face. There was no sign of a cocky smirk on his face, only a scowl and a promise of vengeance.
Stelsa looked between them, her eyes widened as she took in the information. Aemond had beaten Dalton? What had happened? Dyana squeezed her hands, pulling her attention back to them. It was Caspian that spoke up though. "Go to him, Stelsa. We'll figure out an excuse if need be." Caspian promised, ushering his sister towards the door alongside the blond.
"He will need you." Dyana agreed, slipping her hands from Stelsa's as she opened the door for her. "Go." Dyana commanded in a low whisper, shutting the door as soon as Stelsa was pushed into the hall by Caspian with no time to react.
