"ALL STAFF MUST SECURE ALL THE ABNORMALS! ALL STAFF MUST SECURE ALL THE ABNORMALS!" The siren screamed as I held Maila's hand. We were both running for our lives. People were screaming from left to right, guns were firing and that's when we were separated. We lost each other in the same place we promised we wouldn't.
"Keep going!" Maila screamed as she was being restrained and a tranquilizer was eventually stabbed into her neck. I looked back but kept running. I had to stay alive.I was breathing so heavily my lungs felt on the verge of exploding. I looked up trying to remember where was where. There was a thick, leafy canopy above me and the lab was probably miles away by now. I had used up all my energy and I just sat down panting. Maila would make it right? Of course she would but she probably can't live long without somebody that cares for her. People with demon abnormalities feed off affection so that's why everybody hates them. Maila's growth will only stunt. She won't survive. I need to go back! But I can't. I need to keep living, for Mum, for dad, for me... And for Maila
Maila's pov
No, no, no, no, no! I mentally screamed as I threw myself at the wall. The walls were covered in black, knife-like quills and beneath that were thick white mattresses and beyond that was a thick metal wall. I looked at the glass where a scientist was staring at me. They were different, they would smile and treat us like real people instead of things. I think they were a she. She had a braided ponytail that was a dark brown, basically black colour and she had a brownies sort of skin colour. She didn't seem to put on the tranquilizer gas on when I started attacking the wall.I eventually calmed down and sat in the corner, facing away from the door. A familiar creak noise came from the door and the lady came in.
"Hey, you okay?" She asked as sat down next to me. I wanted to scream and tear off her face but I still need the affection to survive.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I mumbled as I folded my arms. The girl put a hand on my shoulder.
"It's okay, containment isn't that bad, at least you have me," The lady said. I turned around and gave her a hug.
"You're going to get into trouble though," I reminded the lady.
"It's okay, if you're happy, this job is worth it," The lady said.
