10- A Day in the Life of the Fujioka Family!

--- inside Tamaki's dream sequence ---

The members of the host club arrive outside of Hikari and Haruhi's house as they all stand there in horror.

"This can't be right" Tamaki says as he holds onto the gift he brought for the home.

"Oh, what's this?" Hikari asks as she walks in from behind them, cheeks hollow, black bags under her eyes, "HARUHI!" she yells loudly, scaring them all, "we've got company!".

"Oh, hey everyone" Haruhi says as she slides the door open, the same look as Hikari on her face, "won't you come in?".

They all walk inside as Kyoya goes to turn on the light.

"No, senpai. Don't turn on the light" Hikari says as she puts her hand over his, "the electricity bill's too much. We've got candles, right, Haruhi?".

"I used the last one to light the stove to heat the tea" Haruhi says as she looks at the rusty pot on the stove.

"Well, I guess sitting in darkness it is" Hikari says sadly.

"We know it's not much but please make yourselves at home" Haruhi says as she looks at the guys, "I hade to tea so you'd settle in easier but we don't have enough cups, but we have measuring jugs and bowls. Dad's always breaking the cups".

"Hey, Boss. What's with this place?" Kaoru asks as he picks up a bowl of tea, "they live here?".

"Maybe it's some kind of set" Hikaru says as he looks at Kaoru, "you know, like in the movies".

"Calm down, you guys" Tamaki says, panicking internally, "I bet this is the store room. I'm positive that the infinite cosmos is on the other side of that closet".

"Then should we try to open it?" the twins ask as they look at Tamaki.

"Now's not the time" Tamaki says as he hits the twins over the back of the head.

"Since you guys decided to come by at lunchtime, my Dad said it'd be rude to not offer you something to eat" Hikari says as she opens one of the cupboards which looks like a dark abyss, "we've been fasting for three days to save up the money to buy something that would fit your taste. And I brought home some of the expired food from the convenience store I work at. But it's all worth it as long as you guys like it".

Hikari takes some packs of expired and price deducted sushi out of the cupboard and puts it down in the table.

"Sorry we came to visit Haru-chan, Kari-chan. Please don't make us eat it" Honey says as he tugs on her arm.

"Be strong, men. Our girls have suffered for our benefit so let's just eat, yes?" Tamaki says as she snaps his chopsticks in two.

"But, Boss, I'm not even sure this is fish" Kaoru says as he tries some.

"Wow, I can't believe it. Isn't this a piece of fancy tuna?" Haruhi asks as she shows Hikari, "I never tasted it until now".

--- present day ---

"No, Haruhi! That's just regular tuna! It's by no means fancy!" Tamaki yells as he wakes up from his sleep, "ah, just a dream".

Tamaki gets dressed as he grabs his bag, leaving his room. He runs down the stairs into the foyer.

"Morning Mr Tamaki" the chief of staff says as she greets Tamaki, "anything we can do for you?".

"I need to get going. Please bring the car around at once" Tamaki says as he adjusts his tie.

"Yes, sir" the driver says as he leaves out of the front door.

"I beg your pardon, Mister Tamaki, but what would you like for breakfast this morning?" the chief of staff asks as she looks at Tamaki.
