LISA

Preparations are already underway for our world tour, along with other group and solo projects we have lined up. All four of us have been trying to make the most of our remaining free time before we gear up for a busy year.

I think it's standard procedure for idols to "fuel up" before taking on schedules that are so overloaded, one loses the concept of time and space in between all nighters and early morning engagements that progress until late afternoon. I wish I was exaggerating but it happens.

In my case, fueling up means spending time with Irene whenever, wherever and however possible. It's a bit tricky maneuvering around her current schedule and so oftentimes we see each other in the middle of the night or in the wee hours of the morning.

I keep telling her we should wait until her schedule frees up at a more decent time but she always insists on meeting anyway. I mean, I love being with her at any given time but I don't want her purposely giving up rest just so we could meet up.

Honestly, these ungodly hour meet ups do more for me than her. Following the confrontation, things have gotten a bit strained and so I rarely stay at the dorm these days. If I'm not with Irene, I'm at YG practicing or doing errands for Jisoo, who spends her free days playing games in her room.

These simple incognito... dates, as I'd like to think of them, have been keeping me sane and I like how nothing else seems to matter when Irene and I are together.

I leaned back lazily as I waited for the elevator doors to close. A meeting for a solo project I'll be doing in Thailand ended early and so I had time to spare before going out with Irene again.

"Hold the elevator!"

My body went rigid. I recognize that voice even though I haven't been hearing it a lot lately. As I guessed, Jennie appeared, breathless, blocking the doors from completely closing.

We both tensed upon coming face to face with each other. She straightened herself up as she entered and stood on the other side, leaving a significant amount of space between us. This is the closest I've been to her in what felt like a very long time.

Everything appeared to be back to normal after my unplanned coming out party a week ago. One would think nothing major happened since Jisoo and Rosie were treating me as they usually did. Except, Jennie and I were not on speaking terms. It's like I ceased to exist for her.

How did we get to this point? She and I never got into serious fights before and if we did argue about something, we never stayed mad at each other for long. The optimist in me was still hopeful we could salvage a bit of our friendship despite her negative reaction to my sexual preference. I refuse to accept that the relationship we built over the years can be discarded that easily.

I fidgeted as I eyed the floor indicator, too antsy to keep still. Our dorm was situated on the 10th floor and this old elevator is taking its sweet time to reach it.

2...3... She's looking good. Well, she's guaranteed to look good in tight jeans and a tank top. Her leather jacket covered her aptly but didn't hide her figure.

4...5... Should I talk to her? I'm sure she'll just ignore me.

6...7... God, this elevator is taking way too long.

8...9... I miss her.

Jennie shrieked as we were thrown off balance when the elevator came to an abrupt stop. I held on to nothing as the force pushed me hard against the wall. The lights flickered and went out, leaving only the glow of the dim emergency light shining on my side of the elevator.

"Lisa?!"

"Jennie?" I looked over to where she stood upon hearing the panic in her voice.

"What happened?!" She held on to me tightly as I swiftly pulled her close.
