LISA
"Yah! Lalisa! Why are you sulking? Go be sociable!" Rosie found me sitting by myself at the far corner of the room.
"Do you realize we're attending what could be a once in a lifetime thing? Drop this somber attitude and let's enjoy the party!" She yelled over the blaring music.
She's not wrong. It's not often artists, both idols and actors, from different companies gather for something other than music or award shows.
We are at a Halloween party hosted by a "chaebol". If you're from South Korea or have some knowledge about it, you'd know what that means. Not only is it a huge deal to be invited but it's also a fundraiser, so companies consider it as good PR and allowed most of their artists to attend. Blackpink is no exception. Apart from Jisoo who's not feeling well and had to stay at the dorm, our group dressed up as characters in Kill Bill and went to represent YG entertainment.
"Go ahead. I'll be right behind you." I responded heedlessly. My eyes were fixed on the crowd, focused on finding Gogo Yubari.
"You better be." Rosie a.k.a Elle driver lifted her eye patch to give me a warning look before walking away.
I continued to scan the room. I'm confident I'd spot her if she's anywhere near my line of sight. We've known each other for years. Surely, I can recognize even her silhouette.
While I was upset with Jennie for leaving me to be with that EXO member she's secretly dating, I haven't seen her since and so I was starting to worry. First of all, it's not wise to be going around openly with your secret boyfriend in an event full of people. One careless move and you might just be the subject of tomorrow's dating scandal. Second, Mino and the rest of Winner are here. He is particularly protective of Jennie and starting up a brawl will not exactly give YG the PR it wants. Third, we're not allowed to date. CEO Yang will not only give her but the rest of the group hell if he finds out. Lastly, I don't like this boyfriend of hers.
Honestly, I don't trust the guy and I'll never understand what she sees in him. As far as I know, this all started when Jennie happened to be doing promotions for her solo at the same time as EXO for their comeback. I guess repeatedly seeing each other and interacting at the same shows made Kai think he had a chance. Turns out he did.
I was the only one adamantly against it. Jisoo and Rosie were apprehensive at first but accepted it eventually. I suppose we have no other choice but to support her. Jennie will do what she wants once she's made up her mind anyway, regardless of our opinions about it. She's stubborn like that.
"There you are, Lisayah!"
After what felt like an eternity of trying to find her, Jennie was the one who found me. The relief upon hearing her voice vanished as soon as I turned and discovered she's not alone. Joining me at the table were not only Jennie and Kai but also Irene and Suho.
Great.
They were dressed up as Gogo Yubari, Joker, Cat woman and a character I'm not familiar with, respectively.
"Where have you been?" Jennie asked, taking the seat next to me.
I could ask her the same thing but before I could speak Kai interjected.
"Your yellow costume suits you, Lisa. It's very... you." He said with a smirk.
I might just be biased but I swear his tone sounded more mocking than complimenting. Anyway, someone needs to remind Kai that dating Jennie doesn't give him the license to talk to me casually or even just to talk to me, period.
"Lisa's favorite color is yellow. For good reason because she always looks good in yellow." Jennie said with a gummy smile, placing her arm around my shoulder. "I'm sorry for leaving you too long, Lisayah. I kept looking for you but couldn't find you anywhere."
