23 - The girl is mine, secretly

LISA

It's 10 past 12 midnight and I'm alone in my room wishing Irene had stayed with me a bit longer.

Me: Happy birthday, Bae. 🥰

I was sitting on my bed with my back against the headboard as I browsed through pictures from our joint birthday party which concluded sooner than I expected. Irene had to leave to get ready for an early morning flight. I swear, SM's truly unrelenting for making her work on her birthday. She should be spending it at home with her family and friends... or with me.

I'm one to talk. I just celebrated half of mine dozing off on an airplane going back to South Korea. I'm nowhere near complaining though. Our fanbase has significantly grown and we've been touring and performing more abroad, mostly in countries we haven't been to before. A lot of people around the world are starting to recognize our music and we're more than happy to receive the influx of opportunities.

Aside from the lack of time with my Bae, I have nothing to complain about.

Baeby: Why aren't you asleep yet?
Me: I wanted to be the first to greet you.
Baeby: You already did a number of times when we were together earlier, Lisa.

She calls me by my name only when she's annoyed with me or when we have company; and just recently I found out, when she moans it out while... You know what I'm getting at.

We don't have one specific term of endearment, we just call each other with whatever feels good at the moment. I personally like calling her baby while she usually prefers Jagiya.

Me: I just wanted to greet you on your actual birthday, love.
Baeby: Aish. You didn't have to wait, Lisa.
Baeby: I told you to rest. You haven't gotten any yet since you went straight to me when you landed. I know you're tired

She's right. I was dead tired but sleep and rest can wait when I'm with her. All my senses get activated when she's around anyway. Maybe because I don't want to waste even just a little of the limited time that we have or maybe my body recognizes a stimulant when it's near one. Irene is my only stimulant, after all. No other drug or substance can have the same effect that she has on me.

Me: I've gotten plenty of sleep on the airplane. Don't worry.
Baeby: A seat on an airplane is different from your bed at home.
Me: Maybe I should rest there with you? Your bed is more comfortable than mine anyway
Baeby: Lisa, don't start
Me: Yeri and Wendy already saw me right? I'm sure Seulgi and Joy won't mind
Baeby: Lisa...
Me: We could say we're just friends...
Baeby: LALISA
Me: What Bae Joohyun?
Baeby: Stop
Me: fine☹️

I understand why we need to continue walking on eggshells and keep our relationship a secret but I don't get why we can't tell our members. If there's anyone who'll support us and stay by our side, it's definitely them right?

Baeby: What's with the sad face?
Me: You don't want to be with me
Baeby: Jagiya...
Baeby: Next time we'll be together longer. Just the two of us. I promise
Me: When's the next time?
Baeby: Soon. Let's not think about it so it'll come sooner, ok?
Me: Ok 😔
Baeby: Rest please
Baeby: Goodnight 💋
