LISA
I'm certain our managers already know. How could they not? They're practically shadowing us wherever we go these days. At this point, they're just probably turning a blind eye to every infringement of company rules that they witness.
"I think our managers have caught on to us." I said.
We were parked outside my dorm. Irene and I were seated at the backseat of Red Velvet's car while her manager, who drove us, stepped out to give us some privacy.
"You're probably right. I noticed Alice was barely surprised to see us together and manager-nim didn't need to be told to give us space to talk in private." She peeped out the window to see where her manager went off to.
"That's a good thing right?" I asked. The truth is, if we want to keep our relationship hidden, we need people who know to safeguard us from those who don't.
An undeniable glimpse of concern crossed her appearance. "We can't do anything about it now. Let's just hope they don't tell our CEOs or leak any information to the public."
I trust Alice. Though I can't exactly say the same for Irene's manager, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Besides, if they have any plans of reporting us, they would've done so by now.
"You're not going to ghost me again, are you? I mean, you're not going to disappear every time there's a danger of people finding out, right?" I gave her an imploring look.
"Jagiya..." She uttered softly, her voice laced with guilt. "I'm sorry, ok? It was stupid and I was wrong, baby. Believe me, it was hard for me too."
It hits different when she calls me baby. Jagiya is sweet and I love it when she calls me that too but the way she says the former sounds so fucking sexy and sometimes invitingly submissive that it sends a long shudder rippling through my core.
Irene knows I'm pliant when it comes to her, especially when she uses the baby card. In fact, I think she deliberately calls me this to get her way but this time I'll put on a bit of resistance. Just a tiny bit.
"Not that hard obviously." I pouted. "You wouldn't have done it for that long if it were."
"Baby, I swear it wasn't easy." She inched closer and cupped my face with one hand.
"Imagine not seeing this face for days. Missing your dorky smile and your nonsense jokes. Not being able to feel your touch or get these plump pouty lips off my mind." She bit her bottom lip and grazed her thumb gently over mine. My resolve to resist her charm began to waver as she slowly leaned closer. Her lidded gaze locked on her target.
I moved to meet her approach halfway but then there was a sudden change in her expression. The look of longing was replaced by indignation as she appeared to have remembered something vexing.
"These lips that Jennie kissed earlier!" She pushed my face away, folding her arms and leaning back on her seat. Her beautiful face now wearing an angry scowl.
"What?!" I held my cheek where her hand forcefully shoved me away. I was expecting a kiss, not this sudden outburst.
"Are you still upset about that? It was unintentional, baby. The card fell. The air between us won't obviously block our lips from touching." Irene's usually reasonable but her jealousy always clouds her judgment. I seriously thought I more than made up for this mishap in the elevator earlier.
"That was more than touching, Lisa but I guess the air was also responsible for you kissing her back??" She turned to me. Her brow became more deeply furrowed as I attempted to make my case.
"I did not kiss her back. I was just... caught off guard."
"Oh, come on. You've made up better excuses than that." Irene huffed.
