"teyam!" feyiri's voice called out, "ionia!" the couple looked down the shore and saw tuk and feyiri running their way.

ionia and neteyam had just been on their first date officially as a couple. secretly. their parents still did not know. afraid that ronal would banish neteyam or worse kill him for whatever reason or right she thought she had.

neteyam was understandable about this though. he understand how her mother was and if that put his and ionia's relationship at risk he wouldn't want to take it.

the two young na'vi girls came to a halt in front of them. "can you come play?" tuk asked.

ionia smiled at tuk, but neteyam looked at ionia, "tuk..." he dragged out the 'k', "we're in the middle of something!" he gestured between himself and ionia.

"pleaseeee neteyam!" feyiri grabbed onto his hand and dragged him up to his feet. ionia stood up as well, with the help of tuk, who copied feyiri's moves with neteyam.

neteyam resisted the urge to roll his eyes, but he would feel mean if he left his sister and his somewhat adopted fake daughter to play by themselves.

"right, you two have a minute to run and then me and ionia will find you. how about that?" the young girls nodded quickly in happiness, running off straight away. "and no hiding in the water!" he added. tuk and feyiri disappeared off the shore, their giggling fading away the further they got.

neteyam sighed and turned around to his girlfriend. she looked up at him with her blue eyes, a lopsided smile on her face. "having children is tiring and they're not actually even our kids," neteyam said.

ionia laughed in response, "one day ma'teyam. we'll just have to hope he doesn't learn from his uncle lo'ak," ionia smiled.

neteyam rolled his eyes at ionia. if he was completely honest, he sometimes got a bit jealous when ionia mentioned lo'ak. neteyam was worried that lo'ak would steal her away. he knew it was stupid, but, lo'ak felt the same way when it came to tsireya and neteyam.

"come on then," ionia spoke, taking ahold of neteyam's hand and leading him off the shore. "right, you go left and i'll go right, towards the mauri's."

neteyam nodded in agreement pulling ionia towards him. the boy looked down at her with loving eyes. he'd never felt this way. for anyone.

"i love you, ionia. truly," neteyam told the girl. she smiled at neteyam's words. ionia had never been treated like this before. she was never used to the constant compliments or affection. but she loved this. she loved him.

"i love you neteyam," she replied to him. ionia stood on her tiptoes and pressed her lips to neteyam's.

as ionia pulled away from the short but sweet kiss, neteyam tried to follow her lips away. she smiled at the boy's actions, shaking her head with a laugh. "i'll see you once i find feyiri or tuk," ionia told him, walking away with a wave.

ionia had been looking for over ten minutes now and had no sight of the young girls yet. but as she began to walk by her own mauri, her father stopped her.

"ionia! here child," her father spoke loudly, gesturing her over. tonowari and ronal were stood in a group, with some people ionia didn't recognise.

"ionia, meet ateyo," ronal introduced, "ateyo, this is ionia,"

ionia's heart dropped at the name. she realised who and what he was here for. ronal wanted ionia to mate.

"it's nice to meet you," ateyo spoke nervously. in ionia's mind, he looked really nervous and even a bit uncomfortable.
