Hyunjin pov
-day of the landing-"You can't just run away every time you disagree with her" shouted Changbin from behind me as I walked towards the forest.
"If I stay I might say something I regret and offend her highness the Commander," I said rolling my eyes.
"Just be back before nighttime" he sighed and went back inside.I went to the river and quickly crossed it through a small bridge covered by bushes, and went into the forests of the Death Valley to my usual hiding spot, to my cave.
I usually went there when I needed time off to think and clear my mind, and when I didn't want anyone near me.That happened more often than it should. Especially lately, since the Dragon Clan had been causing tension in Capital City and the Commander has been going out of her mind trying to figure out a way to calm them down.
She would always call for my help in difficult situations, ask for my advice and then go off and do the exact opposite. She got on my nerves. If u won't listen to me why convo-cate me in the first place?
Today was sunny and the weather was warm enough for me to not want to go inside the cave and isolate myself in the darkness of it.
I laid on the grass and look at the sky not thinking of anything in particular. I loved moments like this when my mind was blank and I could focus on nature and its sounds around me. But unfounded that moment of peace was short-lived as something shiny appeared in the sky catching my attention.
At first, I thought it was the moon which sometimes could be seen during the daytime, but as minutes passed it got closer and brighter.
I looked at it curiously trying to figure out what it was.Soon the strange object was getting closer and closer, enough for me to see that it was something metallic and it looked like it was burning.
I got up and tried to get a better look as it kept falling until it crushed down somewhere into the forests making a loud noise and smoke began to come out.I immediately reached for my helmet and sword and walked in the direction of the smoke.
It took me about 10 minutes to get to where it had crashed, and when I got there I heard noises...voices so I hid behind a big tree and tried to see what was going on.To my surprise, there were people, about 10 of them if I wasn't mistaken and they looked different from the ones I was used to. They were wearing different clothes and had weird objects around them.
Two people, in particular, caught my eye. They were standing next to each other close to the entrance of the metal thing.
The older one had dark hair and sharp features, he looked like a sculpture, and the younger one looked like an angel. And he had just fallen from the sky ironic, isn't it?
He had blonde almost white hair soft yet beautiful and powerful features, at least from what I could see. I was pretty far away. Some moments later the angel-looking guy began to come in my direction and I panicked, but then realized he was going to the girl sitting under the tree not too far from the one I was hiding behind.
"Shin Ryujin, can we talk?" he said standing in front of her.
The girl looked up at him and nodded.
"Sure doc,"
Doc? Was he a healer?
"Why did you help me earlier? You know the chip isn't able to stop anyone's life...So why?"
"Because I ain't dump. If we want to survive here we can't have a bunch of stupid bloodthirsty criminals taking over. And if you can't have power by gaining their respect then you take it by using fear...they're just like animals" she said, her tone low and flat.
"That's true, but-"
"You play too nice doc, to be able to deal with snakes you have to become a snake-charmer. Be careful and don't let the snakes bite you," she added interrupting him.The girl reminded me of my sister in a way. Cold, heartless, and rational to the point you would think she wasn't human when she spoke.
"Alright, I'll keep that in mind," he said and walked away.
I stayed hidden and observed them for a little longer before deciding to head back and inform the others of what I had seen.
