"I have to say I'm impressed with your offer," she said, and I gulped nervously.
"Do you deem it good enough?" I asked and waited anxiously for her to answer,r feeling my heart beating in my throat.

And after what felt like hours she spoke.
"Be my guests tonight and we'll talk about this further over dinner," she said.
I looked at her nervously, not knowing if it was a good sign, or not.

"Your guests?" I asked.
"Yes," she said, cutting the conversation short, and then called one of her guards over and whispered something to him before leaving to go back inside, leaving us perplexed.

Both Adeline and Ryujin looked at me looking for answers, but I was even more lost than them.
The guard went to Hyunjin and told him something in their language before following the Commander inside.

"OK, so you guys are free to explore the Capital City or the Residence till dinner time. My sister has made you her guests, so you are under her protection," he said.
"Why is she doing this? Why can't she just tell us if she accepts the offer?" I said frustrated.
"I have no idea what goes inside Yeji's mind, but if she tells you you're her guests then, you better behave as such," he said.
"This better not be a trap!" I glared at him.
"It's not. Yeji considered her guests important she would never do anything to them, just don't give her a reason to," he replied.
"Fine," I said.

"Now, what do we do?" asked Ryujin.
"Can we go look around the city?" asked Adeline.
"You can" replied Hyunjin.
"Do whatever you want as long as you don't get in trouble," I said.
"Alright then I'm leaving," said Adeline getting one of the guns we had shown the commander and putting it on her belt.
"Just in case" she added when we all gave her a look.
"Stay out of trouble I'm serious and be here before dark," I said before she left.

"I actually wanna explore that building. Is that a church?" said Ryujin pointing at a building right next to the Commander's Residence. It looked like an antique church I had seen in books while I studied in Arc.
"Yes, that's a church...honestly nothing is interesting there, but feel free to take a look if you want," said Hyunjin.
Ryujin looked at me for permission and I nodded.
"Alright then see you tonight," said Ryujin and headed to the church leaving only me and Hyunjin standing there.

"What about you?" asked Hyunjin.
"I guess you can show me the Residence," I said.
"Even my room?" he teased.
"Even your room" I replied and he seemed surprised by my words and smirked.
"I'm just curious. Get your head out of the gutter." I sighed annoyed.
"I didn't say anything," he said defensively.
"You didn't need to your eyes speak for themselves," I said and followed him to the entrance.
"You seem to pay close attention to my eyes," he teased.
"How can I not when you can't take them off of me?" I teased back and he smiled.

"I like this blondie."
"What do you mean?"
"Less bitchy more flirty"
I rolled my eyes and kept walking.
"Just show me around will you,"
"Yeah, yeah, come,"

He showed me around the residence, and I was able to see more of its beautiful rooms and furniture.
They even had a giant library that Hyunjin seemed so passionate about. It had a sealed high bookshelf and what seemed like millions of books. I would have loved to spend entire days immersed in those pages, which was what he used to do when he and his sister first moved into the residence after she became the commander. He told me that with much nostalgia that made me think that he could no longer do it or that something had changed from then. I didn't get the chance to ask because he cut the conversation short after that.

Then he showed me the dining hall where we were expected to have dinner tonight.
"This place is huge," I said.
"According to old documents we found in the library this used to be the residence of the president in the 20th of the last century," he said.
"Is this the White House!?" I asked.
I knew we had landed somewhere in the east course of North America, but everything was covered in forests, and what was left of the latest civilization was almost nothing or not recognizable from the side of the river we were at, so I had no idea we were in Washington D.C precisely.
