Chapter 5

Catherine's POV:

"Hey Catherine can I come in?" Alexis asked knocking on my apartment door.

"Yeah I'm coming," I reply running to the door.

I opened the door and saw tears running down Alexis's cheeks. "Hey what happened?" I said wrapping my arms around her and walking in.

She explained everything that happened between her mom and her and told me what her mom said to her.

"I swear I will kill her!" I said in an angry tone.

"No Catherine don't." Alexis says trying to hold back tears.

I looked over to her and smiled at her. She smiled back and so we went on just sitting on the couch.

"Hey we should go see a movie."

"Okay."

"So lex what do you want to see."

"Um how about, poltergeist."

"I knew you were going to say that."

We got off the couch and walked to my car. It took us about 10 minutes to get to the theater. We walked in and I gave the person the money for our tickets.

"So what snack do you want," I asked looking towards Alexis's direction.

"Um just some MnM's please." she responded. I looked back at the guy behind the counter.

"Can I get a medium popcorn, 2 medium cokes, and 2 packs of MnM's please," I asked.

"That will be $21.50," he said back. I handed him the money and waited for the food and drinks.

I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. At first I ignored it and brought the food and drinks into theater 5. I felt my phone vibrate a second time once me and Alexis were in the theater.

I pulled it out of my pocket and looked down at it. There was a new text appearing on my screen so I unlocked the phone and checked to see who it was from.

Kian.

(K: Kian C: Catherine)

K: hey

K: I'm sorry about the boat

C: hi Kian I am at the movies

K: sorry am I interrupting yours and Jc's date

C: no

C: wait what date

K: oops said to much

C: Kian spill the beans

K: cant have to go

C: no spill it

K: bye don't want to disturb you. You're at the movies.

C: KIAN TELL ME!!

I felt eyes peering over my should the time I was texting Kian. I looked over at Alexis who had a curious expression growing on her face.

"So whats going on with you and Kian?" she asked.

"Nothing..." I replied. She had one eyebrow raised.

"Don't lie to me I saw you two kiss on the boat." she said.

By that time I was looking at my feet but when she mentioned the kiss on the boat my head jolted in her direction. "I didn't- I mean I didn't expect it to happen. Oh god please don't tell Jc!" I pleaded.

"I won't I promise, but tell me one thing. Do you like Kian?" she said back.

"Well yeah as a friend nothing more." I replied.

"Shhhhh!" someone in front of us said looking back at us. I hadn't even realized that the movie was already playing. We looked at the screen and kept quiet throughout the rest of the movie.

-Time jump (after the movie)-

We walked out of the theater grabbing each other as tightly as we could. We jumped at every little noise all the way to the car. "Oh my lord I will never watch another scary movie again!" I told Alexis starting the car.

"Same here." Alexis replied. Right when we got home from the theater Alexis's phone rang. We both screamed and I cowered under my sweatshirt. I poked my head out and saw Alexis laughing at me.

Alexis answered her phone and started talking. By the way she was talking I figured out it was Connor. She seemed really upset by the time their conversation was over.

"Hey whats wrong what happened?" I asked.

"I think Connor is cheating on me I heard someone in the background talking to him." she responded. We kept talking about Connor, and I tried to convince her that he loved her and would never do that to her.

But of course she brought up what I said about him and Troye on the boat. "But Connor's not gay," I continually argued trying to make her feel better.

We had got to the door and argued about whether or not Connor was cheating on her the whole way. Alexis bent down and picked up a piece of paper that had writing on it.

She read it out loud.

"Catherine:

You're my soul, my happiness
The all that I need

The stars in the sky

The reason I try

I love you."

I watched the note the whole time Alexis was reading it. "Awww, Jc is so sweet wait there is something on the back." Alexis said.

"Meet me at the old wood bridge by 10:30."

I instantly looked at my phone to check the time it was 10:25. Alexis looked at me and signaled me to go meet him. "Go I'll be here when you get back." she said.

I shook my head hopped into my car and started driving to the old bridge. It was a 15 minute drive. I'm not going to make it I thought to myself. It seemed like the world was up against me. I hit every stop light on the way.

I pulled onto Winston road and drove straight. I stopped driving when I saw the bridge. I unbuckled and jumped out of the car. Rain started pouring from the sky drenching my clothes.

I started running as fast as I could trying to get to the bridge. I finally reached it and saw someone walking away in the other direction.

"Hey!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. He turned around and faced me. We both started running towards each other until we were inches apart.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and picked me up our lips connecting in the process. The rain kept pouring over us making it the most perfectly romantic, yet cheesiest, kiss ever.
