For centuries werewolves and vampires have been immortal enemies. Due to vampires being the demons of the night, vicious and blood thirsty with faster abilities than werewolves, while the werewolves have their vicious bites and the control of the full moon.
This is how it has been throughout history, even during the ages of which people would live in huts and hunt for a living.
However there are vampires who ignore the warnings of the fatal ways of a werewolf and become friends with them instead.
Lívia Salvatore is one of the many vampires to prefer and become friends with werewolves. Unlike her brothers Damon and Stefan that would rather kill a werewolf despite its innocence than be friends with them. Lívia is the twin sister of Stefan Salvatore and the youngest in the family because of that her brothers sort out to protect their baby sister from everything.
However, Lívia was a different creature than what her brothers were. Somehow when she turned in 1864 and woke up on that shore beside her brothers, she felt different sensations. Ones relating to the feel of mother nature running through her veins. Lívia later found out by witches that her mother had a witchy bloodline, meaning not only was Lívia a vampire she also somehow kept her magic abilities.
That promise flew out the window in 1864 and Lívia hasn't forgotten about that,
Throughout her decades on this Earth Lívia went off on her own, creating friends as time went on. Not wanting to be with her brothers anymore not after the war Stefan and Damon had between them. Going from country to country, from decade to decade, throughout the 20s-30s Lívia reunited with her brother in Chicago. Meeting two original vampires a long the way, Klaus and Rebekah Mikaelson. The first family and the oldest in history, then in the 30s she reunited with Klaus and met his brother Elijah.
However there was always one specific place Lívia would always return to, and it was not Mystic Falls. No, it was a place called Beacon Hills, there she felt safe as odd as that may seem, especially with the town crawling with a different werewolf she is used to and hunters for said werewolves. Though it was because of them differences that she felt safe, taking on new tasks and becoming more human like rather than the century old monster she is.
Staying in Beacon Hills throughout the decades Lívia met the Hale Family. She met, baby Peter, baby Derek and the many generations of Hale, also meeting the hunters like Chris Argent. Lívia felt a connection with the Hale's always keeping on eye on their bloodline, making sure the family line would continue. Though there were times when she'd leave to continue travelling or head to Mystic Falls to reunite with her brothers.
Mystic Falls was where Lívia was, sitting in the Mikaelsons living room when she got the phone call from her dearest friend, Derek Hale.
The call to say one of the Hale family member was dead, killed even. Killed viciously and torturously.
That call drove her back to Beacon Hills, only this time it would be harder for her to leave.
