Grace Howard, the glue keeping the pogues together, is the kookiest pogue in the group with her mother Georgina, being a nail technician and hairdresser in the salon on the cut. If she is not helping her mother in the salon, she is normally with one of the boys surfing, causing trouble and starting fights with girls in Figure 8. She is a bit older than the other pogues, but in her words, everyone else on the cut pisses her off, even though she is living on the cut herself.
Though the Kooks of Outerbanks wouldn't agree, the Pogues know that Grace could give Sarah a run for her money, if Grace ever became a kook with her mother's small business it is over for the kooks of Outerbanks.
Despite her attitude, Grace has the biggest heart which is protected by her rude and cold remarks to everyone but the pogues. The pogues are her family, Pope, Kie, JJ and John B, all of them have a place in her heart. Unknown to her, the pogues mainly JJ and John B have had a crush on her since their second or third year in primary school.
Nine months ago Big John and her father, Mark Howard went missing, lost at sea. Though Grace doesn't believe that, not when she, John B and their fathers were working and planning to find The Royal Merchant. Since then John B and Grace have gotten closer with the search for their fathers but with no luck, there was nothing the two could do, and with John B being an official orphan Georgia tried to adopt John as her own but John B was adamant that his dad would be back.
Except, he never came back neither did Mark Howard.
The disappearance of their fathers changed them. While John B got closer to all of his friends in search of comfort and denial of his father being dead, Grace fell into the wrong crowd and eventually got the reputation of being the local drug dealer's girlfriend. Barry and Grace, yes together, Barry would support her habits and Grace would help his sales boost to those on the cut, not just on the cut but in Figure 8 as well.
Due to Grace having an endless supply of drugs, she got invited to the Kook's parties, and there she became an associate of the kooks mainly for her supply.
Despite all the changes in her life, losing her father, getting into the wrong crowd, becoming an associate with the kooks, and taking the shine off of Sarah Cameron, she still makes time for the pogues, especially this summer. No matter how long she spends nights out in Figure 8 she always finds her way back to the Château to the pogues her family.
One day out to the marsh changes everything, especially with what seems like messages from her father and Big John to find them, which ends up in a treasure hunt. Grace needs to decide who she wants to be, a pogue finding her father or a kook and find the gold for herself.
Rafe and Barry or JJ and John B?
