Two girls were attached to the hip, the best of friends, growing up together since they were toddlers in a town known for being prestige and where secrets are kept to keep a perfect image, Rosewood. These girls were Anna Grace and Alison Dilaurentis, they were vastly different to each other but they were as close as anything.
Anna Grace was the daughter of very successful doctors, her mother Ellie Grace was a heart surgeon and her father Max Grace was a neurosurgeon. Anna has always been the epitome of perfect, the perfect image of what a teenager in Rosewood should look like, well put together, friends with the popular girl, intelligent, perceived as innocent and the golden girl of the town.
Alison Dilaurentis however, was completely different to Anna Grace. Alison Dilaurentis was the daughter of successful parents, Kenneth Dilaurentis successful in real estate, and her mother Jessica Dilauretis was on the board of Radley Sanitarium. As much as Alison Dilaurentis was highly intelligent herself, she placed her priorities in different areas, such as seeking out other people's secrets and exposing them when necessary and doing whatever it took to keep herself on top of the school society hierarchy.
Despite their differences, the two were both the best of friends and were the talk of the town as well as the talk of Rosewood High. Growing up, the two would look after each other, with Anna she would introduce other girls to Alison to kickstart a group of friends for Alison to have someone to fall back on if she was ever in trouble. However, Alison would protect Anna whenever she could, as Anna was more kind-hearted and had the constant need to help those who needed it. However, in a town like Rosewood where most people are only in it for themselves, some people seek to take advantage of Anna, which is where Alison steps in.
As they grew up their duo extended to a group of six girls. These girls were Aria Montgomery, Hanna Marin, Spencer Hastings and Emily Fields with Anna and Alison as their unofficial leaders.
The girls together would create mayhem whether they wanted to or not, Anna and Alison always had some sort of plans that could get them into trouble, whether that be attending parties they were too young to attend, or punishing people in unbelievable ways. Despite the bad, the girls adored Anna and Alison, all of them wanting to prove their worth to them, and secrets were starting to be shared. Though Alison would never admit any secrets of her own, and Anna would rarely share secrets, the girls? Oh, they would share secrets like no other making it very easy for Alison to manipulate them when needed to protect Anna from harm.
It wasn't just Alison who would do anything to protect Anna from her kind-hearted and sometimes ditzy self but Alison's older brother, Jason would protect her as well when needed. If Anna wasn't with Alison or the girls, she would be seen with Jason especially when he would see her at his college parties. Wanting her near him throughout that night to keep her safe, having her on his lap or keeping an eye on her when she would get herself drinks or go dancing with the girls and intercepting if a guy got too touchy with her or anything that Jason would see that makes Anna uncomfortable.
This started a bloom of feelings between Anna and Jason, they had a reputation for acting as though they were together with the constant need to protect each other. Alison saw this and while it may have made her uncomfortable in the beginning especially knowing what her older brother was like, seeing him with Anna and how he also needed to protect Anna, Alison had no problems. However, she did have problems when the other girls would start looking towards her brother as well, more specifically Aria.
Though just as everything was good and dandy, with Anna and Jason, with Alison and Anna with the girls, everything came to a drastic change on the last weekend of summer 2009, on Labour Day weekend. Alison Dilaurentis was declared missing when the girls, minus Alison and Anna, were awoken in the barn to see Alison and Anna gone. While Alison was declared missing, Anna, however, was found injured and has little to no memory of that night, well that is what she is telling everybody.
What will happen to Anna now that her protector is gone and she is in more danger than ever, due to a psycho-cyberbully exposing all of her and her friend's secrets and threatening her by using her best friend's murder?
Will Jason still be her protector for when she needs it and will their feelings bloom into something more, or is he someone she needs protecting from?
