Jasmine Gilbert never knew what true love felt like or even knew the feeling of having a loving family. As she was found by Sheriff Forbes and adopted into the Gilbert family, even though she was safe from the horrors of her biological family, Jasmine still believed she was never worthy of the love and the family she was given.
The Gilbert family, more specifically Grayson and Jeremy thought the world of Jasmine, Grayson would treat her as his daughter- arguably treating her better than he did with Elena. Jeremy thought of Jasmine as the better sister, the one he could run to when he'd be upset and punished for the stupidest things.
Elena on the other hand, disliked Jasmine- not liking how Jasmine seemed to someone she had a competition with. Seeing who would like her more over Jasmine, seeing how far she could push into treating Jasmine terribly and get away with it.
Jasmine always felt as though she was worthless and she hated that feeling. So much so, that during high school, she fought hard and worked hard to change her reputation, from the poor little girl to Mystic Falls High mean girl.
Her heart turned to stone, only caring for a small handful of people which would be understandable to anyone who truly knew the backstory of Jasmine Gilbert. She would manipulate her way out of trouble, be the wild party girl in the summer, and have boys queuing up to have a date with her.
Even with a loving boyfriend, Theo Lockwood who treated her wonderfully and practically kissed the ground she walked on, Jasmine never felt worthy of his love. She didn't feel worthy of any love from friends, family or her relationships.
Jasmine had memories that haunted her dreams, from her upbringing and the relentless abuse she would receive from her biological father to her adoptive parents's death, and many more events in which outsiders would argue she is too young to have suffered so much pain and conflict.
However, this all changed when she met the Originals. More specifically Klaus Mikaelson and Kol Mikaelson.
The two brothers regardless of their endless feud would always agree on one thing, their respect and love they had for Jasmine Gilbert. Starting a little love triangle, between the Gilbert girl and the two Mikaelson brothers. Slowly with their help, she regained more of herself, centering herself to be the person she wanted to be. Happy.
The two brothers would eventually start to fight for her affection, both of them giving Jasmine as much as they could for Jasmine to choose who she wanted. However, during many painful events and so much betrayal, there was only one she ever truly loved.
Who she will always love, and feel beyond loved for Always and Forever.
