WE WERE GETTING closer to the train, niether one of us having spoken about what happened an hour previous.

"listen i'm sorry about that. i didn't want to make it awkward." he says, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.

"it's fine, i didn't mind it." i shrug, my heart beating faster with the confession.

he turns to me with a shocked look before opening his mouth before a loud shout came.

"T-there they are!" Bill yelled, pointing at us.

"Finally!"

"Hey guys!" I shout loud enough for them to hear, receiving a wave in return me and Stan hurry up slightly. Bev smiles and jumps down from the train, running over and wrapping her arms tightly around me.

"So what did you want to talk to us about then?"  She asked when we climbed back up onto the train, Stan following closely behind.

"Oh, yeah." I start but stay silent after that, nervously pushing my hair behind my shoulders with both my hands.

"Well?" Eddie asks, looking at me.

"I don't know wether I should tell you guys." I mumble, turning away to look at the small lake nearby while feeling their eyes glued to me. "It's crazy."

"Just tell us, we won't laugh." Stan said sincerely.

I turn again, this time bill is staring at me like he knows what I'm about to say. with a sigh i begin.

"the other week, the day we made the dam. i went home and was up quite late,"

**

"i'm just glad i'm not the only one who saw somethin'."

"it wasn't a clown at first? it was a werewolf!" Richie said, he was still confused which was understandable. almost all of us had all confessed to seeing something throughout the last week.

"i didn't see a werewolf, just a clown." Eddie said, shrugging.

"d-don't you see? it was the w-werewolf for Richie because he saw that d-d-dumb movie." bill began.

"but it was a clown underneath." Richie said, finally understanding.

"exactly." i say in confirmation.

"so, maybe it's some kind of evil being that can read our minds and take the shape of the stuff we're afraid of." ben queried.

"and that's what's happened to all the kids around here?" Bev asks, i turn to her and nod.

Eddie had seen him in the boys shower room at school, Richie's in the school basement like i had presumed, bill in his house when his brother died and ben down near the sewers.

Bev believed us, even if she hadn't seen anything. almost everyone else had so i figured it was only a matter of time.

i didn't tell her that, though. and that only left-

"get serious!" Stan said from besides me, making me jump since this entire time he's been dead silent.

"Stan, we are serious!" i say, placing my hand on his arm which he moves away. my heart pangs slightly.

i can't blame him, though. we both have our own opinions and he doesn't have to believe it, it does sound crazy after all.

"no this is some sort of sick joke or something!" he said.

"why didn't any of say anything?" Richie asked, ignoring Stanley's sudden outburst.

"p-personally i though you guys would think i was nuts." bill says.

"me too. i thought it was just me." Eddie tells everyone.

"me too." i say timidly, though it was loud enough for everyone to hear. i glance up at stan who is already looking at me. i divert my gaze away.

"your not alone." ben says.

"come on guys, such things just aren't empirically possible." Stan sighs, his tone not as harsh as last time and i can feel his stare on the side of my face. "it's just a bunch of hocus pocus.."

"real. it was too real." eddie sighs, shaking his head before turning it to look at all of us.

"yeah, stan, it almost had my guts for garters." Richie sighs softly.

"that's disgusting." i say, scrunching my nose up making him turn and wink.

"probably the influence of the movie!" stan says, his temper growing short again.

"you got a bad attitude." i tell him though just hear a small tut.

"couldn't it be just some crazy guy dressed up in a clown suit?" eddie asks.

"it can't have been! how would it have got into my house? i thought it was going to kill me!" i practically shriek before sighing softly, "i thought it was my mother."

i can feel him looking at me again, though this time it's more with pity and sorrow. richie turns and placed a hand on my leg in comfort, i place mine on top of his and smile.

"it's some kind of monster." bill interrupted. "and it's right here in derry."

the sad moment of silence that passes was interrupted by a loud yell. i looked up immediately, glancing at the boy next to me in fear.
