I JUMP when a knock sounds at my door, my head turning in the direction of my brother and his friend.
"are you gonna answer it?" i question after a few minutes of silence.
"i can't lie, i'm high as fuck right now."
"yeah same, kid."
"wow what good babysitters."
"thank you."
pause my tv show and get up, walking towards it slowly i stand there for a second before cautiously opening it. yesterday really shook me up.
i don't know why though, it was just a bad dream. though i haven't had one of them in at least a year so i found it strange i had now i'd moved here.
"oh hey beverly." i breathe out.
"hi delilah! you coming out for a little?" she asks. i glance behind her as she talks and notice the boys over the road, having a conversation. i stifle a smile at that.
"uhh.. i don't know bev-"
"before you say no! please take into consideration that you'd be leaving me all by myself as the only girl."
"i know, i know. sorry." i mutter, leaning against the door frame. i glance back over the road, they're staring at us now though trying not to make it obvious.
"what you don't like them?" she asks, following my eyeline.
"no- i mean yes!" i pause with a sigh. "it's not that bev, it's just awkward. you guys already know eachother."
"they don't know ben." she de pans, though clearly gets what i mean.
"yeah but it's different. they all instantly kind of clicked since he's a boy, it's weird. i don't think they like me.."
"they do! and i know it's weird, that's why i need you to come with me? pleaseee!" she begged.
"let me get my shoes."
"yes!" she turns and puts two thumbs up to the group over the road.
i run up to my room and slip on some shoes and grab my key before running back down and glancing at the clock.

Tim took the girls shopping and to watch a movie, they only just left fifteen minutes ago so that gives me a couple of hours.
i had declined so i could watch a movie on my tv but now it seems that would be over.
and daddy was at work, like always. that kid left jax.
