Thank you Eliza!!!
Ducking her head sorrowfully as the tears well up in her eyes, Alexia felt her heart shatter into a million pieces once she realized that Erin was leaving.
And of course she remembered what the blonde had said when she arrived in Barcelona last week.
Two suitcases. No other belongings.
Enough to be able to leave the hotel, the apartment, the city, and even the country, before Alexia would wrap up that photoshoot.
And just the thought of Erin - the one - leaving, made the captain want to curl up in bed with Nala and never get out of her apartment ever again.
This couldn't happen.
It just couldn't.
"Alexia? The photoshoot isn't working without our captain", was Joan's firm, authoritative, but still kind of concerned voice, that snapped the midfielder out of her thoughts.
Wiping her tears away as she turns, not wanting the FC Barcelona president to see that his shining star was crying, Alexia puts on the fakest of smiles.
"Sure, Sir", the brunette mumbles, her voice so quiet, so broken and vulnerable as it had never been before.
And the man he was, Joan Laporta didn't even notice.
Of course he didn't.
He didn't notice the way the captain was trailing slightly behind him, warm fingers running through brunette strands of hair as the tears kept trickling down Alexia's reddened cheeks.
And even when he turned towards her, even when he talked to her, the president didn't notice that Alexia had a hard time suppressing those tears.
It was almost impossible to hide her emotions.
But all he cared about was for favorite player, the star of FC Barcelona, the two time Ballon D'Or winner, to attend this photoshoot.
And it wasn't until the captain made it into the media room, all of her teammates already dressed into the newest Barcelona kits and in the middle of their own photoshoot for the upcoming season's promotion, that the first person noticed that something was off.
Completely off.
And of course that someone had to be Jenni.
Who else would it be?
And as she was the only one who really knew about the past Alexia and Erin shared, the only one who knew what power this irresistible blonde held over the person she loved more than anything else in this world, she approaches the captain with a worried expression.
"Ale... I'm... I'm so sorry", the forward mumbles as she awkwardly hands Alexia's jersey over, the midfielder not even bothering that this was their new kit as the pulls the material over her head.
It were two hands settling on her strong shoulders, and dark brown eyes staring at her, that had the worried and obviously sad athlete stop her motions.
And whilst staring at Jenni, Alexia couldn't help but say what she was thinking.
She wouldn't hold back.
"I hate you for what you did to her... to us... but this is my fault, Jen... I should've told her", the midfielder mumbles as she presses her lips together into a flat, squeezing her eyes shut as she felt more tears welling up.
She couldn't help it.
She couldn't control herself when it came to Erin.
"It's not, it's mine... I tried in vain to tear you apart... no matter the cost. I shouldn't have done that... the price was too high", the forward tells her regretfully, pulling Alexia with her by the hand, leading them away from the group, making sure no one could hear them.
