• Imagine dating Aaron Hotchner
• Imagine getting to see a different side of him than everyone else
• Starting off with him being so serious, but slowly getting to see the kind and funny sides of him, and then finally getting to see his soft and vulnerable sides
• He is always at such ease when he is with you, and you are with him too, but especially him
• This job is taxing. It is physically, mentally, and emotionally draining. But when he gets home with you his worries and tension start to melt away
• Just being anywhere with you helps him, but nothing beats being at home where the two of you can just lay in bed or on the couch together
• The relationship progressed pretty slow
• It was for a lot of reasons, but him getting over Haley's death was one of them
• The part of your relationship that seemed to move the slowest was before your feelings for one another were acknowledged
• You had liked him for a long time
• He had liked you for a long time
• It wasn't very obvious at first, but over time things started to pick up
• It was hard for Hotch at first because he felt like he was abandoning Haley, but over time he started to be able to manage his loss and grief better and realized that Haley would have wanted him to be happy and move on
• If you worked with him at the BAU there's also the problem that he's your superior, which made it seem inappropriate
• When it's time for you to meet Jack there is a lot of mixed emotions
• You and Jack getting along so well
• A little too well, as Hotch puts it—as the two of you are constantly teaming up against him and pulling some prank or something
• After awhile you start to feel like he's your own kid, and then you start to panic when you realize you're Jack's mother figure now
• Hotch often finds you looking up stuff about how to be a good step parent and such
• Half of the time you have tears on your face because you're stressed and are taking this so seriously
• He comforts you and always reminds you that you're a good parent to Jack and you wanting to learn more shows just how much you care
• If marriage is in your future, he will be slightly worried to propose because of what happened to his ex-wife, but he knows that you understand the risks of this field of work, and he's sure he wants you to be his spouse
• As soon as the two of you married, Jack started calling you mom. It took weeks for you to stop crying every time he did it
• If children are in your future, he'll be happy to give Jack a sibling or siblings. If not, the two of you are happy with Jack
• Growing old together and watching your child/ren grow and have lives of their own
• He's the perfect partner in every way that you wanted
