Emily's POV

Emily liked this girl, a lot. She looked forward to each and every text and conversation you would share. Every break in any case she had to go on she would make sure to stay in contact with her crush.

She felt silly, like a high-schooler going on their first date. She was friends with a bunch of profilers, so she tried to hide her excitement so they wouldn't know she was seeing someone, but she was so happy that she wasn't able to keep it contained.

"What's their name?" Morgan said, taking a seat in the plane seat next to Emily. She hid her phone so he wouldn't see that she was texting you, but she knew that he already knew. Stupid profiler friends.

"(Y/n)," Emily admitted.

"Have you?..."

"You're gross." Emily rolled her eyes. "Is that really the first thing you're gonna ask?"

"I was just joking. She must really be something though."

"He's right," JJ piped in. "You've been checking your phone every chance you've had. I've even seen a few not-so-hidden smiles."

Emily couldn't help but smile once more. "She really is something. I like her a lot. I'm actually heading over to see her once we get back."

"We better hear all of the details," Morgan said.

"Oh don't worry, I bet I'll need someone to talk to her about."

Hours later Emily was arriving at Quantico, anxious to get into her car and drive the few hours to your home town. She couldn't help but walk faster than normal inside to her desk to grab everything she needed. After packing up she said a quick goodbye to everyone and headed to her vehicle.

And a few hours after that she was pulling into the parking lot of the restaurant both her and you decided on. It was a nice place, so her work clothes were fancy enough to wear, but you had dressed up a bit more, and the moment Emily's eyes landed on you she couldn't help but smile.

You wore a simple, sophisticated, black dress. It showed off your curves but still was modest, with a high neckline and a hem that reached just a few inches above your knees. (F/c) heels and a (f/c) necklace completed the outfit. You wore your hair down but there was no more styling to it than that. The makeup you wore was just enough, not too much and enough to make it look like you were dressing for an occasion.

"Hey you," Emily said.

"Hey stranger."

The two of you embraced. It was better than Emily could have ever imagined. The two of you pulled away after a few moments. She couldn't help but smile again, happy to finally see you in person once more.

"You look amazing," She stated, eyeing you up and down once more.

"So do you. The criminals are lucky that they get to see you like this all day." You whistled.

Emily laughed. As the two of you were getting closer to one another she was realizing that you had a really weird sense of humor, which she adored!

"Yeah, so lucky."

The two of you took a seat at the table, and a waiter came over to bring your drinks that Emily had ordered just before you arrived.

"How did you know?" You asked, talking about the drink in your hand, which was one of your favorites.

Emily simply shrugged, not wanting to reveal her secrets.

After dinner the two of you went to your apartment to have a few more drinks. The need to have physical touch was intense, and not in a sexual way, but because the two of you had formed the relationship you have over the screen you never got to be with each other. The last physical contact you had with her was the night that she got shot.

It seemed like that had happened years ago, but in reality it had only been a few months since that incident had happened. It felt like you had known each other for years now. You were best friends practically, best friends that were attracted to one another.

The two of you laughed at a joke you made before taking a seat on the couch. She watched you at you pour a glass of wine for each of you. You saw her staring when you turned to her to hand her her glass. "What?" You asked.

"Nothing."

"Bullshit!"

She laughed. It was a common phrase of yours after that night. "I was looking at you because I think you're beautiful." You blushed, which made her agree with her point further yet. "I really like you, (y/n), like a lot."

"I like you too, Em."

It suddenly felt like there was a force between the two of you, drawing you closer until your lips were pressed together. You sighed softly as Emily wrapped her arms around you, pulling you even closer. It felt right, like this was where you were supposed to be in this moment--with her.

The two of you pulled away to see each other smiling. Yeah, this was it.

"I wanna be with you," Emily admitted, "officially."

"You know, I think that sounds like a great idea."

Emily laughed and leaned forward to kiss you, but didn't stop when her lips touched yours, she pushed you all the way back until your back hit the couch cushions below you. You wrapped your arms around her neck, deepening the kiss.

After a few moments she pulled away. You tried to tuck her hair behind her ear, but the piece fell back down immediately. "Yeah," You giggled, "I think it was a great idea."

She smirked. "I can think of something else that would be a great idea."
