"Hit the damn thing Tae!"
"I'm trying!"
We'd come to the carnival, our favorite as kids and it had been just as whimsical as it was then and the games just as hard if not harder. I, as always was stuck on a throwing game, I'd never been a good aim I just wanted the big prize.
"You're still ass."
Chan said snickering.
"Shut up I'd like to see you do any better!"
"Yea, yea, whatever. Let's ride some rides."
Chan looked around for second and then smiled.
"That one."
He points and I look.
He's pointing to the most rickety looking ride here...
"There is no way in hell I'm getting on that."
"Yes you are."
Chan drags me across the park through the people and the muck to this old decrepit ride that looked like it's lights had been slapped on last minutes, they weren't even synchronized. People's screams filled the air as the ride went up and down. The ride had stopped midair and then quickly dropped. As all this was happening all I could think about was if I could leave this carnival with my dignity. Our turn came up quickly as we and only a handful of people were in line. We had been loaded into our small carriage and the instructions to tighten our belts came over the intercom.
"Why did I let you bring me here?"
"Because you know it'll be fun."
Chan smiles and the person comes back on the intercom notifying us the ride will be starting soon. I close my eyes and take a deep breath as the ride starts to swing back and forth. The swing get more intense and so does my heart rate. I could hear the creak and rattling of the ride as we were now going faster.
Oh my god I'm going to die!
The ride suddenly slows, I open my eyes to see that we were upside down but before I could process the ride comes down, I could feel my heart in my throat as we went around another time before we finally stopped.
I rushed to get my seatbelt off and far away from that ride. I felt like my stomach had just been shaken and turned upside down.
"Are you alright Tae?"
"If we walk to the car slow enough I could possibly keep my breakfast down."
"You want to go home already?"
"Yes. I wanna lay down in my bed so my stomach and unknot itself."
"You're being a baby cmon!"
We ended up spending the whole day at the carnival, mostly playing games and trying different snacks we eventually packed up and went home.
