Fallon had barely been in her room for ten minutes before a knock sounded upon her door. She opened it to Seth who stood in the corridor. For the first time ever, he wore a serious expression.

"Can I help you?" She asked, eyebrows raised.

"Yeah. I was wondering if you'd realised my probation period is now up?"

She hadn't.

It wasn't like her to let small details pass her by either. She was too on the ball. Too ready for everything.

"And you want to know if I'll allow you to stick around."

He nodded, kicking his feet back and forwards. "Took the words right out of my mouth."

"I suppose you can stay. But just know, if you fuck things up for me, I'll get rid of you."

"I know. And I won't. Unless fuck things up refers to my cock going up your—"

"Goodnight Seth."

She didn't need that image in her head. Not tonight. Not ever. Not after what she'd done alone in the shower that morning.

"One more thing Fal. You're not mad at me, are you?"

She frowned. "Why would I be mad at you?"

"I don't know. It's just when you were talking to the demon it seemed like you were...skittish with me."

Fuck. She'd been trying not to be weird with Seth. But after she'd fingered herself to oblivion with his face in her head, it'd been hard.

She was meant to be above this kind of stuff. She'd learnt her lesson centuries before. And yet here she was.

"You're good. I'm good. We're both good."

"Good. That's good."

"Yep," She conceded. "We're great. Goodnight then."

"Remember, I'm in the next room along if you need a better mattress to sleep on."

She rolled her eyes and shut the door, in sore need of a hot shower to burn her thoughts away.

Seth was downstairs bright and early in the morning. All the years of Annaliese's unscheduled abrupt meetings had fucked his body clock up forever. That, and sleeping the night before had been so much easier with the hot and cold Amazon pressed against his chest.

He sat alone at the bar, nursing his cup of tea as he watched Duncan interact with a group of demonesses by the pillars.

The show up was huge for Fallon's training. But now, rather than scoping out a potential love interest for himself, he assessed Duncan for threats.

Pfft, Fallon wouldn't be interested in him. At all.

Still, it seemed Annaliese's messing with him had given him a new rizz.

He was a magnet for the demonesses.

Seth rolled his eyes.

The demon reeked of desperation.

A second or so later, his eyes met with Seth's. He smiled in a friendly fashion and pried himself away from the ladies.

Just what I wanted to help my tea go down.

The demon was making his way over to Seth.

"Hey, you're Fallon's friend, right?"

Friend. Not for long. Seth would ware her down. Even if he had to irritate her into sharing his bed, it would happen. And word of warning: their sex would be cataclysmic.
