I WATCH AS THE BOY in front of me struggles to push his wheelchair around the house. His face twists every time he even as slightly hits a corner of the wall or piece of furniture.

"This is pathetic." He says frustrated that yet again he's having a hard time moving around.

"You will get the hang of it." It was true, he will eventually. It just takes time.

"Not when i used to have working legs." His voice breaks, the loud heaving of his breath fills the silence.

Not being able to walk was taking a big toll on Miguel, he hasn't gotten used to his wheelchair yet and by the looks of it it's going to take longer then expected for him to adjust.

I can't imagine how much is running through his head. Not only that, but since he can move his foot now it's easier for him to feel frustrated in not being able to stand.

I've been telling him all morning it's going to take time, but even then i don't know if Miguel has enough patience in the world.

"Can you get that?." I nod, as the door behind me begins to bang. I was expecting Miguel's mom or Abuela to be the ones knocking, but when i opened the door my throat closed in suprise.

I look up at Johnny and Brooke, watching as they stand beside one another.

"Hey kid." Johnny said with a smile, i gave him a small one back before turning back to Miguel.

"Let them in." he assured as I nod. Even though i really badly wanted to let johnny in and leave Brooke outside i decided to do what Miguel wanted.

"Hey." I hear her say under her breath waiting for me to respond. I look back over at Miguel who sends me a stern look. The look mothers give their toddlers when they want them to be polite.

"Hey." I replied blandly, shutting the door behind her and walking back towards the couches. I take a seat, watching as everyone piled into the living room.

"How are you twinkle toes?." Johnny says, walking over with a bag in his hand.

"It's been okay." He nods, looking back over at me.

"And you?." He asks, walking to the kitchen and searching for a drink.

"Comme ci comme ca."

He opens a soda can, the sizzle and pop of the bottle fills the silence that follows my words. "What is that?, spanish?."

I fight a smile, looking back down at my chipped painted nails.

"French."

"It's French."

Me and Brooke answer at the same time. I look over at her for a moment, and think to myself how just a few months ago i would have told her to stop copying me and begin laughing about it.

it was different now.

"Okay whatever, miguel stand up." Miguel's jaw drops in surprise.

"I can barely move my toe!" He shouts in defense, trying his best to prop himself up.

Johnny sighs before going into his bag.

"We're gonna get you back on your feet."

Miguel was currently attached to the ceiling. And no, i'm not exaggerating.

Johnny thought it would be a good idea to connect him to a harness and keep him up straight, but every time johnny ever came close to letting go of the other end Miguel went plummeting to the ground.

All i can do is watch, fail after fail. Nothing seems to be working, and i don't think Johnnys way of going at it is enough to withstand the trouble Miguel is facing.

"Ugh! i can't do it." Miguel groans from the ground. he rolls over staring at the ceiling waiting for me or Brooke to help him back up.

Sweat prickles at his forehead, and Johnny's once full soda can turned into six unfinished ones.
Brooke helps him up back into his wheelchair.

"I think i'm going to go home." I said, standing up from the sofa. Everyone's eyes turn to me.

"Are you sure?, i think we're getting the hang of it." Johnny protests. I debate on weather i should stay, but once i see Brooke staring at me i plan on leaving right away.

"No- uh, i should get going." I smile, looking over at the door.

"Wait." My head turns to Brooke as the words spill from her mouth. "Can i talk to you?." She asks me.

My heart falls to my stomach in disbelief. I didn't know what to do, or what to say. So instead i just nodded hopefully in a way to get out of the situation.

"Outside." She adds on.

I look back over at Miguel to see him sending me a reassuring look.

"Okay." My voice wavering unsurely.

I followed her outside the door, closing it behind us so Miguel and Johnny didn't hear what we had to say.

Brooke looks at me for a moment before breathing out a long sigh. "I'm sorry Willow."

My heart stops, the lump in my throat felt so large it was almost like i couldn't breathe.

"For what?"

"Everything." She continues. "I've been a shitty friend, and i lost you because i was so blinded by cobra kai." Her voice squeaks.

Her eyes underline the rivers about to spill, and her body is practically sinking into the ground in regret.

I don't know what to do, all this new information goes over my head as i watch my once favourite person slowly crumble at her own mistakes.

"Why are you talking to me about this?."

"I left cobra kai." I let out a long jagged breath. I'm not sure if it was a sigh, but the weight of her words lifted something off of me.

"Why?, just last week you were telling me i betrayed you."I look her up and down, taking a cautious step back away from her.

she wipes under her eye. "I know, and i'm sorry." She sniffs.

"Are you?." She looks up at me, the darkness of her mascara clouds her lower lash line.

"Yes!, i am and i want to make it up to you. Maybe we could go for dinner or brunch-" She begins to yap.

I cut her off kindly. "Look Brooke. I appreciate your apology and all, but this is too much." I shake my head disapprovingly. "Just last week you were making fun of me across the cafeteria, you can't just change your mind in a span of three days."

"But i have Willow." She pleads.

"Okay maybe you have. But for now i can't just act like everything's normal." I cross my arms over one another, before looking down at her pleading eyes.
"I accept your apology but it doesn't mean i forgive you."

She sniffs once more before nodding her head in agreement. "I understand."

I nod once before hearing the yelling of both Miguel and Johnny inside. My hand automatically reaches for the doorknob, but when i'm about to push down Brooke stops me.

"Willow." I look over my shoulder at her.

"Yeah?."

"I'm really sorry about what happened with kai. It was a stupid immature prank and i wish i could take it back. I don't expect you to forgive me, but i do hope you know i had no intention on hurting his feelings."

My eyes soften before the hard exterior returns. I want to say something but the words don't leave my head, so instead i let her words hang in the air.

I look back at the door pushing it open again, and when i do i see something i would have never of expected when visiting.

Miguel is standing.
